Ambisome Safety Information and Side Effects

Ambisome Safety Information

Hypokalaemia ( 161 reports)    ➢ More

Pancytopenia, Febrile Neutropenia, Hypokalaemia, Rhabdomyolysis, Hyperbilirubinaemia

This case suggests a potential Ambisome Hypokalaemia side effect(s) that can have serious consequences. A 21-year-old patient from JP (weight:NA) was diagnosed with the following health condition(s): NA and used Ambisome (dosage: 200 Mg, Uid/qd) starting Nov 18, 2013. Soon after starting Ambisome the patient began experiencing various side effects, including:
  • Pancytopenia
  • Febrile Neutropenia
  • Hypokalaemia
  • Rhabdomyolysis
  • Hyperbilirubinaemia
Drugs used concurrently:NA. The patient was hospitalized. Although Ambisome demonstrated significant improvements in a number of clinically relevant cases, troublesome symptoms, such as Hypokalaemia, may still occur.

Alanine Aminotransferase Increased ( 84 reports)    ➢ More

Blood Urea Increased, Aspartate Aminotransferase Increased, Alanine Aminotransferase Increased, Blood Creatinine Increased, Hypokalaemia, Blood Creatine Phosphokinase Increased, Blood Lactate Dehydrogenase Increased

Adverse event was reported on Jan 08, 2014 by a male taking Ambisome (Dosage: 244 Mg, Uid/qd) was diagnosed with and. Location: JP , 79 years of age, Directly after treatment started, patient experienced the unwanted or unexpected Ambisome side effects: blood urea increased, aspartate aminotransferase increased, alanine aminotransferase increased, blood creatinine increased, hypokalaemia, blood creatine phosphokinase increased, blood lactate dehydrogenase increased. The patient was hospitalized.

Aspartate Aminotransferase Increased ( 84 reports)    ➢ More

Blood Urea Increased, Aspartate Aminotransferase Increased, Alanine Aminotransferase Increased, Blood Creatinine Increased, Hypokalaemia, Blood Creatine Phosphokinase Increased, Blood Lactate Dehydrogenase Increased

This Aspartate Aminotransferase Increased problem was reported by a health professional from JP. A 79-year-old patient (weight: NA) was diagnosed with the following medical condition(s): febrile neutropenia, pneumonia. On Mar 19, 2013 a consumer started treatment with Ambisome (dosage: 244 Mg, Uid/qd). The following health products were being taken at the same time: NA. When commencing Ambisome, the patient experienced the following unwanted symptoms /side effects:
  • Blood Urea Increased
  • Aspartate Aminotransferase Increased
  • Alanine Aminotransferase Increased
  • Blood Creatinine Increased
  • Hypokalaemia
  • Blood Creatine Phosphokinase Increased
  • Blood Lactate Dehydrogenase Increased
The patient was hospitalized. Although all health products are carefully tested before they are licensed for use, they carry potential side effect risks. Some side effects, such as Aspartate Aminotransferase Increased, may become evident only after a product is in use by the general population.

Rhabdomyolysis ( 72 reports)    ➢ More

Pancytopenia, Febrile Neutropenia, Hypokalaemia, Rhabdomyolysis, Hyperbilirubinaemia

A case of a 21-year-old patient (weight: NA) from JP was presented. The patient developed the following symptoms/conditions: NA and was treated with Ambisome (dosage: 200 Mg, Uid/qd) starting Nov 18, 2013. Concurrently used drugs: NA. Soon after that, the subject experienced the following of symptoms:
  • Pancytopenia
  • Febrile Neutropenia
  • Hypokalaemia
  • Rhabdomyolysis
  • Hyperbilirubinaemia
The patient was hospitalized. This opens a possibility that Ambisome could cause Rhabdomyolysis and that some subjects may be more susceptible.

Blood Creatinine Increased ( 59 reports)    ➢ More

Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation, Cardiac Failure, Blood Creatinine Increased, Hypokalaemia

on Feb 17, 2014 a Female from JP , 18 years of age, was diagnosed with and was treated with Ambisome. Directly after treatment started, patient experienced the unwanted or unexpected Ambisome side effects: disseminated intravascular coagulation, cardiac failure, blood creatinine increased, hypokalaemia. Ambisome dosage: 150 Mg, Uid/qd.
