can Amitriptyline can cause thrombocytopenia ?

Wed, 16 Nov 2011

After having been on elavil for 9 years, mostly at 100mg/night, I spent the last 6 months weaning off. Shortly after stopping Amitriptyline I now have high blood pressure. Before stopping, and for years before starting, my usual pressure was 115/65, now have 150/68. Can this be a withdrawal symptom or has the drug been masking a heart problem all this time or did it cause damage that did not show up before stopping the drug?
