I was on this pill, I'm 30 years old. took this pill for three years, prior to that I was on the brand name ortho tri cyclen. I had severe acne on that one.
I have two children. I experienced the following: depression, fatigue, dizziness, contact lens intolerance, mood swings, extreme irritability, severe leg cramps/spasms, anxiety, weight gain, high blood pressure, diminished sex drive, vaginal dryness, and no mood for intimacy. It was awful I went to the dr for these symptoms-especially the unexplained muscle spasms. My dr. ruled out anything wrong with me with blood work. He could not explain it, and didnt want to say my experiences were from this pill. I decided to do an experiment for myself. After a total of 12 years on the pill I wanted to see what I would feel like with out it. After three days off I experienced what felt like withdrawals and after 10 days my symptoms have subsided. My mood has been great, I feel a sense of calming now and Im still waiting for the sex drive to return. I hope that this pill gets out of my body quick. I don't know if another pill will give me the same reactions and dont want to find out. After being off this pill for only 10 days Ive had the copper iud paragard inserted two days ago. I do not want more children at this time. If this don't work I know I don't want hormones in me anymore-other then my own, I will seriously consider having a tubal litigation. Please seriously review my side effects- I know my issues were from this pill!
