Ativan Loss Of Consciousness Causes and Reviews

Reye syndrome is a rare illness that can affect the blood, liver, and brain of someone who has recently had a viral infection. It always follows another illness. Although it mostly affects children and teens, anyone can get it. It can develop quickly and without warning. It is most common during flu season. Symptoms include

  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Listlessness
  • Personality change - such as irritability, combativeness or confusion
  • Delirium
  • Convulsions
  • Loss of consciousness

If these symptoms occur soon after a viral illness, seek medical attention immediately. Reye syndrome can lead to a coma and brain death, so quick diagnosis and treatment are critical. Treatment focuses on preventing brain damage. There is no cure.

The cause of Reye syndrome is unknown. Studies have shown that taking aspirin increases the risk of getting it. Because of that, health care professionals now recommend other pain relievers for young patients.

What I have been exsperiencing is when I want to go to sleep I start having vivid confusing images that don't make sense. I will be thinking about my day then a thought like eating ice cream and cake will pop in my mind and I never ate ice cream and cake that day. Once my brain picks up on that my heart races and I think where did that thought come from since it was so vivid. It scares me so then I am afraid to go to sleep thinking I'm losing my mind or something. Should I just let me mind think what it wants after all I am just going to sleep. But it freaks me out.

I was having bad dreams and anxiety attacks (My Mom was murdered in 2005). I started drinking to calm my nerves, but decided to quit alcohol. I was told by a nurse that quiting "Cold Turkey" could be dangerous, so I went to see the doctor at the University. He prescribed Lorazepam and sent me home with instructions. He said that since he did not have hospital privileges, I should take the medication and wean off alcohol at home. A couple weeks later, I "woke up" in jail. I had apparently been sleepdriving, but I have no memory of the experience.
