This case suggests a potential Betaferon Multiple Sclerosis Relapse side effect(s) that can have serious consequences. A 36-year-old female patient from DE (weight:NA) was diagnosed with the following health condition(s): multiple sclerosis and used Betaferon (dosage: 250 ?g, Qod) starting Jan 15, 2010. Soon after starting Betaferon the patient began experiencing various side effects, including:
  • Multiple Sclerosis Relapse
Drugs used concurrently:NA. Although Betaferon demonstrated significant improvements in a number of clinically relevant cases, troublesome symptoms, such as Multiple Sclerosis Relapse, may still occur.

This Headache problem was reported by a consumer or non-health professional from BR. A 29-year-old patient (weight: NA) was diagnosed with the following medical condition(s): neuromyelitis optica.On 201212 a consumer started treatment with Betaferon (dosage: 0.5 Ml, Unk). The following health products were being taken at the same time: NA. When commencing Betaferon, the patient experienced the following unwanted symptoms /side effects:
  • Spinal Cord Injury
  • Headache
  • Influenza
  • Pyrexia
  • Vision Blurred
  • Diarrhoea
  • Pain
The patient was hospitalized. Although all health products are carefully tested before they are licensed for use, they carry potential side effect risks. Some side effects, such as Headache, may become evident only after a product is in use by the general population.

The patient developed the following symptoms/conditions: multiple sclerosis and was treated with Betaferon (dosage: NA) starting Feb 01, 2003. Concurrently used drugs: NA. Soon after that, the subject experienced the following of symptoms:
  • Pyrexia
  • Urticaria
  • Skin Striae
  • Chills
  • Dermatitis
  • Depressed Mood
  • Blood Test Abnormal
  • Vertigo
  • Nausea
The patient was hospitalized. This opens a possibility that Betaferon could cause Pyrexia and that some female subjects may be more susceptible.

Directly after treatment started, patient experienced the unwanted or unexpected Betaferon side effects: hepatic steatosis, hepatic enzyme increased, hepatomegaly, asthenia, decreased appetite, abdominal pain, nausea. Betaferon dosage: Unk.
