This case suggests a potential Betamethasone Erythema side effect(s) that can have serious consequences. A 64-year-old patient from IT (weight:NA) was diagnosed with the following health condition(s): tongue oedema and used Betamethasone (dosage: 2mg X Os) starting NS. Soon after starting Betamethasone the patient began experiencing various side effects, including:
  • Localised Oedema
  • Tongue Oedema
  • Erythema
  • Angioedema
Drugs used concurrently:
  • Lisinopril (5mg/day)
  • Atenolol (100mg/day)
  • Although Betamethasone demonstrated significant improvements in a number of clinically relevant cases, troublesome symptoms, such as Erythema, may still occur.

    This Malaise problem was reported by a consumer or non-health professional from JAPAN. A female patient (weight: NA) was diagnosed with the following medical condition(s): NA.On May 16, 2012 a consumer started treatment with Betamethasone (dosage: Tdd: 3 Tablets). The following health products were being taken at the same time:
  • Eksalb
  • Docetaxel (Infusion)
  • When commencing Betamethasone, the patient experienced the following unwanted symptoms /side effects:
    • Decreased Appetite
    • Malaise
    The patient was hospitalized. Although all health products are carefully tested before they are licensed for use, they carry potential side effect risks. Some side effects, such as Malaise, may become evident only after a product is in use by the general population.

The patient developed the following symptoms/conditions: NA and was treated with Betamethasone Sodium Phosphate (dosage: NA) starting Jan 06, 2014. Concurrently used drugs: NA. Soon after that, the subject experienced the following of symptoms:
    • Hiccups
    • Dyspnoea
    • Cough
    • Respiratory Distress
    • Respiratory Failure
    • Pneumonia
    • Respiratory Arrest
    • Hyponatraemia
    • Unevaluable Event
    The patient was hospitalized. This opens a possibility that Betamethasone Sodium Phosphate could cause Dyspnoea and that some subjects may be more susceptible.
