A 78-year-old female patient from GT (weight:NA) was diagnosed with the following health condition(s): colon cancer and used Capecitabine (dosage: NA) starting Dec 01, 2011. Soon after starting Capecitabine the patient began experiencing various side effects, including:
  • Keratitis
  • Diarrhoea
Drugs used concurrently:
  • Bevacizumab
  • Although Capecitabine demonstrated significant improvements in a number of clinically relevant cases, troublesome symptoms, such as Diarrhoea, may still occur.

    This Dehydration problem was reported by a physician from NL. A 76-year-old patient (weight: NA) was diagnosed with the following medical condition(s): gastric cancer.On Jan 24, 2014 a consumer started treatment with Capecitabine (dosage: Most Recent Dose On 27/feb/2014). The following health products were being taken at the same time:
  • Epirubicin (Most Recent Dose On 19/feb/2014)
  • Cisplatin (Most Recent Dose On 19/feb/2014)
  • When commencing Capecitabine, the patient experienced the following unwanted symptoms /side effects:
    • Dehydration
    • Malaise
    • Pulmonary Embolism
    The patient was hospitalized. Although all health products are carefully tested before they are licensed for use, they carry potential side effect risks. Some side effects, such as Dehydration, may become evident only after a product is in use by the general population.

    A case of a 75-year-old female patient (weight: NA) from COUNTRY NOT SPECIFIED was presented. The patient developed the following symptoms/conditions: NA and was treated with Capecitabine (dosage: NA) starting NS. Concurrently used drugs:
  • Irinotecan
  • Oxaliplatin
  • Soon after that, the subject experienced the following of symptoms:
    • Dehydration
    • Hypokalaemia
    • Vomiting
    • Diarrhoea
    This opens a possibility that Capecitabine could cause Vomiting and that some female subjects may be more susceptible.
