Clonidine Convulsion Causes and Reviews

Seizures are symptoms of a brain problem. They happen because of sudden, abnormal electrical activity in the brain. When people think of seizures, they often think of Convulsions in which a person's body shakes rapidly and uncontrollably. Not all seizures cause Convulsions. There are many types of seizures and some have mild symptoms. Seizures fall into two main groups. Focal seizures, also called partial seizures, happen in just one part of the brain. Generalized seizures are a result of abnormal activity on both sides of the brain.

Most seizures last from 30 seconds to 2 minutes and do not cause lasting harm. However, it is a medical emergency if seizures last longer than 5 minutes or if a person has many seizures and does not wake up between them. Seizures can have many causes, including medicines, high fevers, head injuries and certain diseases. People who have recurring seizures due to a brain disorder have epilepsy.

Clonidine Convulsion Reviews

Mon, 07 May 2012

prescribed Clonidine 2 months ago for hot flushes due to the menopause. I am taking 25mcg twice a day as I cnnot tolerate the advised dose of 50mcg twice a day, but this lower dose has stopped the flushes. Infortunately I have been perpetually cold and have become really irritable. Is this a drug reaction or more symptoms of the menopause?

Sun, 22 May 2011

i am feeling drowsy, weak, and my heart is racing. is that suppose to happen?

Wed, 28 Dec 2011

I take only a portion of a 0.1 mg Clonidine once a day. Since I have been taking this medicine, the have been times that my skin feels that needles are sticking in it---this is all over my body. Has anyone else had this happen? I don't know for sure this is from this medicine, but it started shortly after I started taking it.

Mon, 01 Jun 2009
I take 0*1 mg Clonidine for high BP and have the sensation that my esophagus or chest muscles are spasming. Also my heart rate is accelerated. Are these expected side effects of this medication.
Sun, 15 Nov 2009
I just started on Clonidine for excessive sweating of the scalp and face, but also for insomnia. I had to take .3 mg to get sleepy. I woke up this morning with several canker like sores on the inside of my lips. Anyone else had this happen? I also use a cpap machine and am on other medications.

Fri, 30 Jul 2010
I find this medication terrible. I dont know about anyone else but I have found that my body has become addictived to this drug. I have only been on this drug since June 18, 2010. I am on the patch 2mg plus one 1 mg tablet 2x per day (total of 4mg) If I do not take this mediction exactly within one hour before it wears of I start to go trough withdrawls. My head get tight my body starts to shake and I start to have a feeling of doom. When this first happen to me I went to the Emergency Room because I did not know what was happening to me. They discharged me because My blood pressure was not that high. Lucky for me My doctor's office was accross the street. I went to see him. He told me that this was one of the side effects of the drug. I told him that I could not live this way. He said this feeling would eventually go away but I had to stay on this drug because when you dont take this drug your blood pressure could spike very high. I was devastated to find that I was taking a drug that could potentially kill me if not taken timely.I have told the doctor that he had to find a way to get me off this medication. I can not function on this med. My vision is getting worse, I have difficulty concentrating, I am extremely aggitated and nervous all the time not to mention that I am so tired I can barely walk a block. I recently spoke with two different doctors who told me that I should not have been put on this med alone. I am so frustrated I dont know what to do. No one seem to be able to help me. Am I doomed to be this sick the reat of my life or is there something that can be done. Sincerely, Hopeless
