What are Nausea and vomiting?

Nausea is when you feel sick to your stomach, as if you are going to throw up. Vomiting is when you throw up.

What are the treatments for Nausea and vomiting?

Treatments for Nausea and vomiting depend on the cause. You may get treatment for the underlying problem. There are some medicines that can treatment Nausea and vomiting. For severe cases of vomiting, you may need extra fluids through an IV (intravenous).

There are things that you can do to feel better:

  • Get enough fluids, to avoid dehydration. If you are having trouble keeping liquids down, drink small amounts of clear liquids often.
  • Eat bland foods; stay away from spicy, fatty, or salty foods
  • Eat smaller meals more often
  • Avoid strong smells, since they can sometimes trigger Nausea and vomiting
  • If you are pregnant and have morning sickness, eat crackers before you get out of bed in the morning

I took ONE dose-----my head, face and ears itched. My face became all blotchy and swelled up. The skin on my forehead and cheeks started to peel, as if I had a sunburn. $40 I spent to take one pill----which was nothing but POISON. Don't use Concerta!

My son is 8 and has been on Concerta for 3yrs he is telling me he does not need it anymore so i just stopped is that ok he has been off for 4days the only thing i am seeing is fatigue, please some let me know if this is ok. Kim

You put your kid on amphetamines when he was 6? Wow dude, that's horribly inappropriate. A lot of kids who show even strong signs of ADHD grow out of it. I didn't start using Concerta till just a few days ago, and I'm 19. I wish I had this through highschool to be honest, but I'm glad I didn't have to take it as a child. It's good you are letting him stop using it though. There shouldn't be any withdrawal effects as far as I know.

It should be o.k, he's probably experiencing fatigue as a drawback from being off Concerta. Concerta can cause imsomnia (the loss of sleep), but given enough time he should recover. If there are more severe symptons he experiences such as pain then going to the doctors would probably be recommended.

My son was wheezing with physical complaints of bronchospasm for 60 minutes after gym class ended. He has never had wheezing before this, is 16 years old and has been on Concerta (36 mg/day sustained release) for 2 months. I am notifying the physician today.
