Bone Fragmentation Medical Research Studies

Up-to-date List of Bone Fragmentation Medical Research Studies

What Research is Being Done?

A clinical study involves research using human volunteers (also called participants) that is intended to add to medical knowledge. There are two main types of clinical studies: clinical trials (also called interventional studies) and observational studies. Following list includes both interventional and observational studies.

Latest Bone Fragmentation Medical Research Studies

Rank Status Study
1 Not yet recruiting Swiss Prospective Autologous Bone Flap Resorption Study
Condition: Brain Edema
Intervention: Procedure: Reimplantation of cryoconserved bone flap
Outcome Measures: Incidence of a relevant bone resorption within 12 months after reimplantation;   Incidence of an indication for surgical revision;   Death;   Infections;   Fluid collections and bleedings;   Hydrocephalus;   Temporal muscle atrophy;   timepoint between explantation and reimplantation;   patient age;   fragmentation of the bone flap;   temperature used for cryoconservation;   pathologies leading to explantation of the bone flap (hemicraniectomy)
2 Unknown  Carfilzomib + High Dose Melphalan as Preparative Regimen for Autologous Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation
Condition: Multiple Myeloma
Intervention: Drug: Carfilzomib
Outcome Measures: To determine the Maximum Tolerated Dose (MTD) of carfilzomib plus melphalans conditioning for AHSCT in patients with relapsed Multiple Myeloma(MM) [Phase I portion of study];   To evaluate efficacy of carfilzomib plus melphalan conditioning in patients with relapsed MM;   To evaluate toxicity and tolerability of carfilzomib plus melphalan conditioning in patients with relapsed MM.;   To investigate the pharmacodynamic effects of carfilzomib + high dose melphalan in terms of changes in expression of fanconi anemia/BRCA DNA repair genes and DNA fragmentation

These studies may lead to new treatments and are adding insight into Bone Fragmentation etiology and treatment.

A major focus of Bone Fragmentation research is the development of new drugs and other treatment options. Studies seek to identify new drugs to treat various related disorders and to find safer, more effective doses for medications already being used. Other research is aimed at identifying receptors or drug targets.
