Lentigo Medical Research Studies

Up-to-date List of Lentigo Medical Research Studies

What Research is Being Done?

A clinical study involves research using human volunteers (also called participants) that is intended to add to medical knowledge. There are two main types of clinical studies: clinical trials (also called interventional studies) and observational studies. Following list includes both interventional and observational studies.

Latest Lentigo Medical Research Studies

Rank Status Study
1 Recruiting Comparative Study of the Therapy of Solar Lentigines With a Q-switched Rubin Laser Versus a Bleaching Cream
Condition: Solar Lentigines
Interventions: Device: Q-switched SINON Ruby Laser;   Drug: Pigmanorm Cream
Outcome Measures: Evaluation of clearing of pigmentation;   Evaluation of safety profile;   Change from Baseline in Pigmentation at day 140
2 Recruiting Imiquimod to Detect Residual Lesions and Prevent Recurrence of Lentigo Maligna
Condition: Lentigo Maligna
Intervention: Drug: Imiquimod
Outcome Measures: Elimination of possible subclinical lesions of LM that resides after surgical excision by determining the long-term recurrence rates.;   Incidence of subclinical residual lesions and local skin reactions.
3 Recruiting Relevance of Imiquimod as Neo-adjuvant Treatment to Reduce Excision Size and the Risk of Intralesional Excision in Lentigo Malignant of the Face
Condition: Lentigo Maligna Melanoma (Head or Neck)
Interventions: Drug: Imiquimod cream + surgery;   Drug: vehicle + surgery
Outcome Measures: The primary endpoint is the margin of resection. Success is defined by an extralesional excision as from the first surgical procedure performed with a healthy tissue margin of 5 mm.;   The number of surgical re-excisions required to obtain complete remission.;   The number of recurrences, defined as the reappearance of pigmentation within 3 years of surgical excision.;   The number of histologically confirmed complete remissions under imiquimod.
4 Recruiting Clinical, Histological and Biochemical Characterization of Hyperpigmented Lesion
Conditions: Lentigo;   Melasma
Outcome Measure: Characterization and classification of lentigines and melasma
5 Unknown  Evaluate the Lightening Effect of the Whitening Cosmetic Product BEX-2011
Condition: Solar Lentigines
Intervention: Other: skin whitening cosmetic product
Outcome Measures: the mean reduction of darkness from baseline in target area after treatment;   the difference of darkness between the treated spots and the control spots
6 Recruiting Defining the Genetic Basis for the Development of Primary Pigmented Nodular Adrenocortical Disease (PPNAD) and the Carney Complex
Conditions: Cushing's Syndrome;   Hereditary Neoplastic Syndrome;   Lentigo;   Neoplasm;   Testicular Neoplasm
Outcome Measure:
7 Recruiting Study of Families With Melanoma
Condition: Melanoma (Skin)
Interventions: Genetic: gene expression analysis;   Genetic: mutation analysis;   Other: immunohistochemistry staining method;   Other: laboratory biomarker analysis;   Procedure: examination;   Procedure: mutation carrier screening;   Procedure: study of high risk factors
Outcome Measures: Lifestyle factors governing relapse from melanoma;   Genes governing relapse from melanoma;   Sun exposure and genes that cause melanoma;   Unusual moles related to sun exposure and genes that cause melanoma
8 Recruiting Study of Everolimus in the Treatment of Advanced Malignancies in Patients With Peutz-Jeghers Syndrome
Conditions: Peutz-Jeghers Syndrome;   Neoplastic Processes;   Neoplasm Metastasis
Intervention: Drug: Everolimus
Outcome Measures: To determine the response rate of Everolimus in patients with advanced cancer and PJS.;   To determine the overall survival of PJS patients treated with everolimus for advanced malignancies;   To determine the time to progression of PJS patients treated with everolimus for advanced malignancies.;   To determine the safety and toxicity of Everolimus in this patient population;   To determine if there is an association between measured drug blood levels and treatment outcome measured as response to treatment determined by RECIST;   To assess markers for activated mTOR pathway (including phospho-S6 and phospho-4E BP1) in all pre-treatment tissue specimens and collected specimens during treatment and correlate with response to treatment.
9 Recruiting The Cancer of the Pancreas Screening-5 CAPS5)Study
Conditions: Pancreas Cancer;   Peutz-Jeghers Syndrome;   Gene Mutation;   Germline Mutation Carrier;   Lynch Syndrome
Intervention: Drug: Human synthetic secretin
Outcome Measures: Evaluate pancreatic juice for early cancer markers.;   Compare pancreas juice with pancreas cyst fluid

These studies may lead to new treatments and are adding insight into Lentigo etiology and treatment.

A major focus of Lentigo research is the development of new drugs and other treatment options. Studies seek to identify new drugs to treat various related disorders and to find safer, more effective doses for medications already being used. Other research is aimed at identifying receptors or drug targets.
