Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin, which is the skin that covers the tip of the penis. In the United States, it is often done before a new baby leaves the hospital. There are medical benefits and risks to circumcision. Possible benefits include a lower risk of urinary tract infections, penile cancer and sexually transmitted diseases. The risks include pain and a low risk of bleeding or infection. These risks are higher for older babies, boys and men.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) does not recommend routine circumcision. Parents need to decide what is best for their sons, based on their religious, cultural and personal preferences.

Description: I.e does he need to have it in order to stay healthy mentally.I ask because Im in my mid 20's and only had it once qhich was painful due to phimosis. Whereas, after stretching for over a year with no luck, I had to get circumcision. NOw my penis is completely desensitised and I feel like its basically dead to me. Before I used to love to masturbate and got explosive orgasms now it just feels average. I admit from not having a girlfriend and proper sex, my mental health has completely gone, I am not in a good mental state and I feel like beig circumcised is just pointless having a penis as I feel little pleasure, I ******* hate it

Resolved Question: I am circumcised. Is it normal?
Link - Mon, 13 May 2013 17:42:03 GMT - Email The Author
Description: Hello, I am 18 years old, from Europe, a christian, and I was recently told that when I was very young I got circumcised. This is very uncommon where I live. My parents told me that I had had some problems when I was very young and the skin had to be cut off. I feel like I have missed a lot in sexual terms. I was wondering why sometimes I don't feel much satisfaction while masturbating, I am also afraid that I won't give any pleasure to girls and myself. As far as I know people prefer to be uncircumcised (girls like such men better as well). Is there any way to restore it? I know that it isn't really normal but just want to hear what you think about that. Thanks...

Resolved Question: Why don't people see that male infant circumcision is inhumane and unnecessary?
Link - Sun, 12 May 2013 20:22:59 GMT - Email The Author
Description: It literally has no health benefits and was only done for religious purposes so boys would feel less pleasure when masturbating. It's only exclusive to America and few other countries. It is not a useless flap of skin and it never grows back. It is not cleaner in fact circumcised men and boys are more prone sexually transmitted diseases and erectile dysfunction. More male patients are treated for this. A intact male who washes is just as clean as a cut male. 80% percent of the male population is intact. It gives more pleasure to both the man and woman in heterosexual relationships. It removes nerve endings that were suppose to provide pleasure. The only sure way to prevent STD's is abstinence and condoms. From a evolutionary standpoint why would human males evolve to have a foreskin if it made them more prone to infection? It is unnatural to remove it. If it had any benefits males would be born that way to insure survival. It's like saying female genital mutilation has health benefits which is also wrong. Both of them are barbaric practices. I am not trying to compare the two i'm just trying make a point. It is also breach of human rights. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/christiane-northrup/we-need-to-stop-circumcis_b_470689.html The appendix is a completely different scenario it is an accessory that isn't needed. The Foreskin is needed. The appendix is a completely different scenario it is an accessory that isn't needed. The Foreskin is needed.

Resolved Question: Why are people saying circumcision is in my head..?
Link - Sun, 12 May 2013 15:52:01 GMT - Email The Author
Description: Im a male in his 20#s and got circumcised about 3 months ago due to having partial phimosis for as long as I can remember. I had tried stretching for a long time and I could never get the foreskin back further than half way when erect. I had tried stretching, steroid cream, and something called novoglan and also preputioplasty, all seemed to have little effect. Anyway, I had noticed that masturbation basically gives me little pleasure compared to before and lacks that explosive feeling when you climax, which feels fantastic and I asked why this was on here. And I was told by a few people, its in my head, however, I dont even see how this is possible. How can I imagine this? How do I imagine a lack of sensitivity and pleasure? I admit I do thiink about how much I regret it 99% of the time and wish I could turn back the clock but then again, I dont see how I could have cured this phimosis and had a normal foreskin?

Resolved Question: Why do so many women support male circumcision, but they're against female circumcision?
Link - Sat, 11 May 2013 23:22:28 GMT - Email The Author
Description: The foreskin is the most sensitive part of the penis (a lot of people seem to be unaware of this) and has thousands of nerve endings. And despite many claims, countries that do circumcise do not have better health stats than countries that don't. This is true for Africa and the opposite is even true if you compare Europe to the US. Further, the person who is being circumcised is often still an infant or minor and can't even consent what his parents are doing with his body. I find it insane that this is even allowed in the first place as it's purely elective and especially do not understand why I meet some women who actively support male circumcision for minors. I obviously do not support any type of genital mutilation (for males or females) and once the person is old enough they can do whatever they please with their body.

Resolved Question: Why do we practice circumcision, but most other developed countries don't?
Link - Sat, 11 May 2013 22:26:17 GMT - Email The Author
Description: All of Europe does not practice circumcision (with the exception of Muslim immigrants). Countries like England, Australia, New Zealand, Canada used to circumcise their newborns a long time ago, but now those rates have drastically dropped and the vast majority is now not circumcised. In England no guy actually is (except for immigrants due to their religion). It's not common in Latin America or Asia either. So my main question could also be rephrased to: Why don't they do it or actually did it but stopped doing it? But you're always asked even though it's purely elective and there's no immediate medical need. I don't think you should be put in that position and should be asked this question in the first place. If you want it, they should give you the chance to say it. If a doctor brings it up a lot of parents view him as the authority and give in. And most parents still do circumcise, so we still practice it on a large scale. But I'm surprised that they don't really do this in other developed countries (even if they did before). @John: South Korea just started doing it after we started introducing it there in the 1940's or so. It was hardly their own decision they came up with.

Resolved Question: Is it gross to be uncircumcised.?

Description: I was curies about circumcision so I was searching around on the internet and I found some posts on Yahoo Answers saying that women find uncircumcised penises gross and won’t have sex with a guy if he isn't circumcised. So I was just wondering is that true or not? I'm still a virgin, so sorry if this is a stupid question. And I was also wondering are there any benefits to being circumcised? I don’t see the point of cutting of a part of your body…

Resolved Question: Important PLEASE Answer!! Sexual Health question?
Link - Fri, 10 May 2013 23:59:12 GMT - Email The Author
Description: I'm 16 (and I know Im too young for sex but just asking when that day does happen) was watching a video on youtube called,"The complete sexual Guide" and when I saw the video their was a part where the guy was having sexual intercourse with his girlfriend and in the health video when he ejaculated in her I notice the foreskin was pulled back during the thrusting and the foreskin covering his inside of the penis. When I take a shower I only pull my foreskin back a little bit because I need to clean the some of the inside of it. Their was a time I pulled it all the way back and it kind of hurt. I have two questions: Even though people say sex feels good, but will it hurt to me? When I take a shower and pull the foreskin back to clean why does it hurt? Does the foreskin should only be pulled back a little bit?

Description: Let me start by telling you folks that I am sixteen winters old and about three months and a bit pregnant. I am very in the darkness about my child and what EXACTLY I will require for this infant when he or she arrives. This is my first pregnancy, as you've probably noted, and it was not planned, but I did use protection(No harsh criticism please). The father is involved and we are still together. My mother is supportive of my action and decision to have and raise my child and has been helping me, but I'd love some outside advice. I would also appreciate opinions on some things I am going to bring up shortly. Questions What are the very essential items required for baby until first year is over? Tips on how to multitask school with my child? Is breastfeeding better? Why? If he's lazy now, is he likely to be lazy when the baby is born? This question applies to doing things for himself too because I'd also like that answered. If the father and I cannot agree on names, then what should we do? Should you find out the sex, or do you think it is better to be surprised? Why? Circumcision, why or why not? How to act when people look down on you in school? Last but not least, what do you think of these? Parker George or Luna Willow? Thanks guys! Happy answering! If I find out how to do best answer, I'll offer that too!

Description: Most Christians believe circumcision for baby boys is no longer a commandment, however lots of Christians (especially in the United States) still have their sons circumcised, using "health" reasons as a reason. This isn't a critical question, I am a Christian, but I am just wondering what you believe personally.

Description: I'm only 14 and have very little sensitivity in my penis. I've tried many things, like abstinence for a while, different techniques when masturbating etc. It doesn't take long for me to ejaculate, but the orgasm doesn't feel as good as it should. Sometimes, its barely noticeable.... I use to have great sensitivity :c. If it helps: No I don't masturbate all day, no i don't death grip my penis, and I'm circumcised. While we're at it, why is my sperm clear :x Thanks grey ;p. Do you have any tips or tricks to regain sensitivity though? @Mithras- I knew someone was going to suggest foreskin restoration. I've already Googled a ton about it a couple weeks ago. My mom's going to flip if i even mention it :l. So that's out of the question. Description: Two more infants have contracted the herpes virus after undergoing an ultra-Orthodox Jewish type of circumcision, which has been linked to the spread of the potentially deadly virus to newborn boys, according to the New York City Health Department. In the ritual, known as metzitzah b'peh, after removing the foreskin of the penis the person performing the procedure places his mouth briefly over the wound, sucking a small amount of blood out, which is discarded. Antibacterial ointment is applied and the wound is bandaged. The health department says the procedure is dangerous because the contact with the mouth could transmit diseases such as herpes. Most adults are infected with the herpes simplex virus type 1, and while they may have no symptoms, the virus may be present in their saliva. http://edition.cnn.com/2013/04/07/health/new-york-neonatal-herpes/index.html http://moralcompassblog.com/2013/04/07/orthodox-ny-jews-wont-disclose-name-of-herpes-spreading-cleric-more-babies-may-die/ Bonus question: When God commanded circumcising babies without mentioning any safety precautions, did he know it would result in babies getting sick and sometimes dying? Description: I hear many people make this claim to try to convince people to get circumcised. However, I don't hear those same people asking women to have their labia removed over the same issue. Women develop much more buildup than men, but they can live normal lives just fine without having their labia removed. http://circumstitions.com/Clean.html Any buildup that does form is harmless and can easily be removed in the shower, eliminating the need for circumcision to get rid of odor. If somebody does not want to have his penis smell, particularly before sexual activity, he can wash off any buildup without even thinking about cutting off parts of his genital anatomy. Secondly, three-and-a-half years of restoring has changed my hygienic habits to a slight degree. It was a little bit annoying at first, but I adjusted to it. As someone who has been on both sides of the gate with regards to the hygiene "issue," I can say that buildup is by no means (I repeat, BY NO MEANS) a valid reason to cut off a part of one's genitalia. The dramatic gains in sexual pleasure far outweigh the minor annoyances that simply become routine after a while. http://norm.org/lost.html Before people mention the supposed health benefits of circumcision, keep in mind that circumcision is not a vaccine, nor is it a substitute for condoms or abstinence. The proper way to reduce STD rates is to give proper sex education, not to cut off erogenous tissue at birth. http://circumstitions.com/HIV.html Also, it needs to be pointed out that circumcision does not protect against urinary tract infections (UTIs). In fact circumcision actually increases the risk because it exposes the urethra. Women can also get UTIs, but again, I am not hearing women being asked to have their labia removed over this exact same "issue." Even if somebody does contract a UTI, the proper way to treat a bacterial infection is through antibiotics, not by cutting off a piece of one's genitalia. http://circumstitions.com/Utis.html John, unless you can give me sources that can rival over 40 pages' worth of peer-reviewed scientific papers and the revelation of legitimate statistical and sampling errors in several of these pro-circumcision studies, I have no reason to believe you when you say that circumstitions is fiction. John, unless you can give me sources that can rival over 40 pages' worth of peer-reviewed scientific papers and the revelation of legitimate statistical and sampling errors in several of these pro-circumcision studies, I have no reason to believe you when you say that circumstitions is fiction. Connor, women do not prefer circumcised penises. There are several reasons for this, but one of the major ones is the gliding motion. This reduces friction during sex and dramatically increases pleasure for both partners. http://www.sexasnatureintendedit.com/ Mike, I like how you didn't provide a single source to back up your claim and claimed that "Sex As Nature Intended It" is full of misinformation when it specifically describes in full detail why circumcised sex is more uncomfortable for women. It's also clear, Mike, that you haven't actually seen the arguments made in the book and on the website (which actually show images, by the way) that describe why sex is physically more painful for women when the man is circumcised and that it is not a placebo effect.

Resolved Question: Foreskin not retracting... Head connected to skin?
Link - Thu, 18 Apr 2013 05:51:57 GMT - Email The Author
Description: I'm 16 and whenever I try to pull back my foreskin it only comes down maybe 1/4-1/3 of the way when flaccid and even less when erect. I have started to become more comfortable and less self conscious about it, but it still bothers me. Is there anything I can do in addition to stretching to help this process? It does not hurt or anything during intercourse- it is fine in that regard, but whenever girls give me blowjobs they seem like they genuinely dislike it and are reluctant to do it a second time. All I have gotten is that it "tastes bad", which seems quite likely because whenever I pull my foreskin down farther than usual, or more on one side than the other, I always seem to find smegma. Now, it has never caused me any health problems, but I have noticed that it smells bad on occasion and sometimes little bits of the smegma come out with my semen after ejaculation. I try to do everything I can to clean it, but I somehow cannot make it fully go away? Are there any tips or is there anything I can do to 1) reduce the amount of smegma and/or bad taste/smell and 2) to retract my foreskin (as well as stretching). Any and all contributions and answers are much appreciated! Thank you.
