Diazepam Respiratory Depression Causes and Reviews

Respiratory failure happens when not enough oxygen passes from your lungs into your blood. Your body's organs, such as your heart and brain, need oxygen-rich blood to work well. Respiratory failure also can happen if your lungs can't remove carbon dioxide (a waste gas) from your blood. Too much carbon dioxide in your blood can harm your body's organs.

Diseases and conditions that affect your breathing can cause respiratory failure. Examples include

 • Lung diseases such as COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, and cystic fibrosis
 • Conditions that affect the nerves and muscles that control breathing, such as spinal cord injuries, muscular dystrophy and stroke
 • Damage to the tissues and ribs around the lungs. An injury to the chest can cause this damage.
 • Drug or alcohol overdose
 • Injuries from inhaling smoke or harmful fumes

Treatment for respiratory failure depends on whether the condition is acute (short-term) or chronic (ongoing) and how severe it is. It also depends on the underlying cause. You may receive oxygen therapy and other treatment to help you breathe.

Diazepam Respiratory Depression Reviews

Wed, 28 Apr 2010

I had been prescribed Valium at one point for anxiety. Months after my anxiety had subsided (I was on Celexa), I took valium when I was having trouble sleeping one night. I felt asleep quickly but woke up in the middle of the night from a nightmare and was the most scared I have ever been in my life. I was afraid and in panic and didn't want to be alone. I felt like a little kid again. I went into my roommates room and slept on the floor. The next day I flushed the rest of them down the toilet.

Tue, 11 May 2010

Did you it help? no more nightmares?

Tue, 12 Jan 2010

1-09 When I took a very small amount, 2.5 mg, it just relaxed me. I took it to get on the plane. But when I took 5 or 10 (rx'd by my doc for muscle spasms that woke me up) I had nightmares. I seldom if ever had nightmares, and never about people I knew. These nightmares were about family members, and in each case, I woke crying. The dreams are so vivid I know I'll have to stop taking the med - except in very small amounts on occasion, for anxiety.

Thu, 12 May 2011

My doctor prescribed valium for stress and anxiety. I have had very strange and lucid dreams. I am also taking antibiotics, lovenox, and nadalol, for some serious medical conditions. *DONT_KNOW*

Sun, 15 Aug 2010
I have had a very similar experience however I have terrifying and vivid nightmares the following night after a sound nights sleep has already been had. Most of the dreams end with me thinking that I have woken up and that I am having horrible hallucinations before realizing that I am still asleep.
Tue, 14 Dec 2010
Anon- I would say the weed would cause the MOST memory loss used over time also depending on how strong it is ie, (haze, kush....dro...regs from 60's with seeds) THE STONGER it is the faster the brain cells go! As far as the valium/diazapam or xanex at the time of use will make you for get things as well as forgetting what you had done or said in that period of time. I hope this helps you!
Fri, 31 Dec 2010
i find that taking Diazepam 5mg twice a day i get totally relaxed and sleep well.My coordination would not be the best so i do avoid driving. The only problem i seem to be having regarding it is that i needto take it every day or i become agitated, anxious, and down.I hope that this does not mean i am becoming dependant on it but it helps me get through the day
