Doxycycline Intracranial Pressure Increased Causes and Reviews

The brain is the control center of the body. It controls thoughts, memory, speech, and movement. It regulates the function of many organs. When the brain is healthy, it works quickly and automatically. However, when problems occur, the results can be devastating.

Inflammation in the brain can lead to problems such as vision loss, weakness and paralysis. Loss of brain cells, which happens if you suffer a stroke, can affect your ability to think clearly. Brain tumors can also press on nerves and affect brain function. Some brain diseases are genetic. And we do not know what causes some brain diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease.

The symptoms of brain diseases vary widely depending on the specific problem. In some cases, damage is permanent. In other cases, treatments such as surgery, medicines, or physical therapy can correct the source of the problem or improve symptoms.

I was taking Doxycycline for meibomitis and a little over 2 weeks after I started I came ill with severe head pressure, tinnitus, chills, nausea, flulike symptoms and after 2 emergency room visits and 6 different doctors (who were trying to treat me for sinuses, unknown reactions, and migraines)I was finally told by my opthalmologist(who was very aware of my symptoms and said doxy not the cause) finally consulted a neurologist and informed me last week that indeed it can cause all of these symptoms. What I would like to know is,does anyone know how long symptoms remain after stopping the doxy? Thanks

I was taking Doxycycline for an MRSA staph infection. I had tightness in my chest and worsening difficulty breathing, sore tongue, burning palms and soles of my feet, and extreme exhaustion. At the end of my 9th day on the medication, I had excrutiating headaches, I was unable to eat and drinking more than a sip of anything made me unable to breathe. I didn't even think about this being a side effect of the antibiotic. It was really scary. I stopped taking it two days ago, and I still feel somewhat bad, but I can at least breathe again now.

The doctor had prescribed me 100 mg Doxycycline twice daily for 14 days. On 9th day of medication, I had itching in different parts of my body. Then I consulted the doctor but he asked me to continue the Doxycycline and complete the course. To control itching he gave me antihistaminic drug for the remaining medication period. Even after completing the course of medicine I had little bit itching for one more week.

I was taking them as an anti-malarial. Caused a duodenal ulcer and a bleed on the brain, either of which could have killed me. Both nearly did, I had 3 months in hospital and 8 operations before I was discharged. I will probably never be properly well again.

I took Doxycycline for 10 days for perioral dermatitis. A week after completing the medicine I went to the ER with a burning in my chest. Then I lost my appetite, was nauseous and started losing weight. Three weeks later I was diagnosed with gastroparesis. I went on motility medication and changed my diet. It has been 14 months, I am improved, no longer taking the medication and able to eat small meals that are easily digestible. I know of 4 other people who developed gastroparesis after taking Doxycycline.

I am 11 days into a 20 day regime of Doxycycline for Staph. I am 51 and have not had a period in 2 years. 2 days ago I had some breast tenderness and this morning I woke to classic menstrual bleeding with abdominal cramps. Could the Doxycycline be responsible for this in some way? Should I follow up with my GP or call my GYN?
