Lantus Hyperglycaemia Causes and Reviews

Hyperglycemia means high blood sugar or glucose. Glucose comes from the foods you eat. Insulin is a hormone that moves glucose into your cells to give them energy. Hyperglycemia happens when your body doesn't make enough insulin or can't use it the right way.

People with diabetes can get hyperglycemia from not eating the right foods or not taking medicines correctly. Other problems that can raise blood sugar include infections, certain medicines, hormone imbalances, or severe illnesses.

Lantus Hyperglycaemia Reviews

Tue, 09 Feb 2010

Lantus is nt working for me atall, sometimes it will be extremely potent leading to a horrible kind of feeling of blood sugar levels being pushed down. other times it will work the other way and be useless and ineffective. I'm currently trying to get on an insulin pump. I have found out that Lantus is a different ph to the rest of the boy which is clearly going to have some side effects! that is unbelivably obvious! yet why is it still being pushed onto patients. I'm not saying levemir is any better, the best alternative sounds to me like the way insulin pumps send small pulses of rapid acting insulin into the blood every 5 minuets, mimicking the way a normal pancreas would work and making it easier to adjust when things go wrng as opposed to being "stuck" with a certain amount of insulin in your body the moment you inject it.
