Lisinopril Dysphagia Causes and Reviews

If you have a swallowing disorder, you may have difficulty or pain when swallowing. Some people cannot swallow at all. Others may have trouble swallowing liquids, foods, or saliva. This makes it hard to eat. Often, it can be difficult to take in enough calories and fluids to nourish your body.

Anyone can have a swallowing disorder, but it is more likely in the elderly. It often happens because of other conditions, including

  • Nervous system disorders, such as Parkinson's disease and cerebral palsy
  • Problems with your esophagus, including GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease)
  • Stroke
  • Head or spinal cord injury
  • Cancer of the head, neck, or esophagus

Medicines can help some people, while others may need surgery. Swallowing treatment with a speech-language pathologist can help. You may find it helpful to change your diet or hold your head or neck in a certain way when you eat. In very serious cases, people may need feeding tubes.

My Doctor told me I would have to take
Lisinopril for the rest of ny life once I started taking it, cause it will keep my kidneys open and protect my kidneys from diabetes.
So I never took it or the metformin.
I just changed my lifestyle and exercise daily and take vitamin D, cod liver oil and flaxseed oil, multivitamin daily and get blood work done every 3 months.
So far Iam fine.

Creatnine and BUN counts as well as hemoglobin counts are out of normal range. Kidneys not working properly after taking this drug for 3 months 20mg daily.  Stopped taking 12 days ago but counts have not yet gone back to normal. Will never use this again.

How long does the drug stay in your system after stopping it??

I also have a severe itchy throat, with the cough and then when I cough my head off my eyes water like no tomorrow, then the nasal congestion comes. Has anyone else had these side effects?
