Lisinopril Headache Causes and Reviews
Almost everyone has had a Headache. Headache is the most common form of pain. It's a major reason people miss days at work or school or visit the doctor.
The most common type of Headache is a tension Headache. Tension Headaches are due to tight muscles in your shoulders, neck, scalp and jaw. They are often related to stress, depression or anxiety. You are more likely to get tension Headaches if you work too much, don't get enough sleep, miss meals, or use alcohol.
Other common types of Headaches include migraines, cluster Headaches, and sinus Headaches. Most people can feel much better by making lifestyle changes, learning ways to relax and taking pain relievers.
Not all Headaches require a doctor's attention. But sometimes Headaches warn of a more serious disorder. Let your health care provider know if you have sudden, severe Headaches. Get medical help right away if you have a Headache after a blow to your head, or if you have a Headache along with a stiff neck, fever, confusion, loss of consciousness, or pain in the eye or ear.

|I never had a problem (that I know of) since taking Lisinopril 20mgs daily for two years starting when I was diagnosed with Diabetes back in June of 2008 (I was age 57 then and am now a 60 year old male). I was also prescribed 40 mg of Simvastatin per day as well as 500 Mg of Metformin twice daily. The problems came about first with the Simvastatin where after 1 frac12; years it caused me to have terrible-and I mean terrible where I kept falling down as the world spinned around me and 911 was called-Twice in separate episodes. The Meclizine prescribed for the vertigo helped only temporarily but it was only when I cut out taking the Simvastatin (after reading some horror stories on the internet about this medication) did the vertigo finally cease. So now itrsquo;s the Lisinopril all of a sudden since last June where the terrible Headaches and now the awful dehydration getting up every morning suddenly from bed ready to go to the ER-the BP is way up and I have to drink tons of water before I am stabilized, along with 10mgs of Lisinopril. I take only 10 and the other 10 when I need it because the doctor (who is ready to retire and seems more interested in discussing his golf game during visits on his cell phone) prescribed an additional 20 mgs-thatrsquo;s 40 mgs per day for me! Things really got worse after that and I tried to keep it to 30 mg-as my BP did not warrant any more and everything went out of wack anyway. Needless to say I found myself in an ER three weeks ago where it seems all the doctors-and especially the cardiologists were concerned about the high potassium level sin my blood and kept me over night with cardiac enzyme blood tests draw every 6 hours three times. They did not find a heart attack occurred but I was so tired from the lack of sleep that I opted to see my doctor at his office to do a stress test (although I had two in the last 5 years-and both were not great but didnrsquo;t show any concerns as to heart attacks or something of that nature). (The heart doctors warned me not to take more than 20 mgs of Lisinopril by the way and not 40 because of the potassium rise and electrolite imbalance that brought me into the ER).That was a mistake as far as I am concerned as the doctor is ready to retire and is not a very good doctor unfortunately in my estimation-or I wouldnrsquo;t be in this mess to begin with if he had listened carefully to my complaints which he did not. Yesterday and today same thing-getting up horrible BP 50/100 with pulse rate always high from 90rsquo;s to low 100rsquo;s. My primary care doctor retired last year and I am left with only this cardiologist golf lover doctor. My lipid levels are not great 199 total cholesterol (but he said my ldquo;Nowrdquo; cholesterol is high 200rsquo;s-he estimates my LDL to be in the 140rsquo;s because they could not figure the number out due to my triglycerides being over 500-and HDL is 23-my vitamin E levels are ldquo;very very lowrdquo; he stated at 11 and should be at least in the 30rsquo;s somewhere. The Vitamin 200o mg, which he recommended or even 1000 mgrsquo;s Vit D3 makes me feel bad so I stopped taking that. I forgot to mention that my oxygen saturation level was 94 when I got to the ER -went down to 90-but after a few hours and this concoction they gave me to take (tastes awful and very sweet) to get the potassium out of my system it went back to ldquo;normalrdquo; at 98 or 99. My head is hurting now and I will take an Advil as it helps a little-but just wondering what do I do in this mess as this cardiac referral physician I was sent to is not available until next month and I donrsquo;t have the energy to look around for another Dr. just at this time. Wonder if the ldquo;Big One is on itrsquo;s way-Heart Attack or Stroke? What a dilemma. Maybe I should go back to the ER and this time not be too hasty to get out of the hospital. Someone with experience please advise me because I just donrsquo;t know what to do. Sorry for the long post. Thanks|

|My doctor put me on 10mg of Lisinopril and 12.5 mg of Hctz? after my pregnancy since my blood pressure never went back to normal. I've been taking it for over a year now. I recently lost 8 pounds...changed my eating habits, no late dinners, healthier and lighter choices, cardio exercise (zumba cardio party) so when I went to my recent appointment on the 21st the doctor told me that my blood pressure was very good, and due to the fact that I had lost weight, she was reducing my dosage to just 5mg of Lisinopril. Well, I started taking it last Saturday and I seemed to have gained 6 pounds and continue to get Headaches. I've had a migraine for 2 days...thinking of going back to my previous med before I consult my doctor this coming Monday...should i?|
