Lyrica Rash Causes and Reviews

A Rash is an area of irritated or swollen skin. Many Rashes are itchy, red, painful, and irritated. Some Rashes can also lead to blisters or patches of raw skin. Rashes are a symptom of many different medical problems. Other causes include irritating substances and allergies. Certain genes can make people more likely to get Rashes.

Contact dermatitis is a common type of Rash. It causes redness, itching, and sometimes small bumps. You get the Rash where you have touched an irritant, such as a chemical, or something you are allergic to, like poison ivy.

Some Rashes develop right away. Others form over several days. Although most Rashes clear up fairly quickly, others are long-lasting and need long-term treatment.

Because Rashes can be caused by many different things, it's important to figure out what kind you have before you treat it. If it is a bad Rash, if it does not go away, or if you have other symptoms, you should see your health care provider. Treatments may include moisturizers, lotions, baths, cortisone creams that relieve swelling, and antihistamines, which relieve itching.

Lyrica Rash Reviews

Tue, 28 Oct 2008
I was put on Lyrica for pain from a herniated disc, although I have had four other surgeries within the past year and am still in a lot of pain from my other injuries as well. During the short time I was on Lyrica, I felt like life was being drained from me. I felt like I was awake, yet in a coma. I had marked drowsiness, yet couldn't sleep for the pain I still had. I had a lack of muscle coordination, my fingers and hands swelled, I couldn't think straight, it made me weak as a kitten and I could barely move from the bed to the couch. I couldn't drive for fear of being arrested, nor could I walk a straight line or even function in any normal capacity. I was numb everywhere EXCEPT where I hurt. I was even numb from urinating and wasn't sure I could control my bladder function. An itchy Rash developed on my shoulders and I just felt like crap. Lyrica made me feel worse than I did before I started taking it (which was pretty bad), but when I went off of it, I became a very angry individual. And I didn't care that I was so angry. Lyrica made me act like an individual no one even recognized. This stuff is awful!!!

My wife was taking Lyrica along with Zoloft and Tramidol last July for her Fibromyalgia and a pain syndrome. It made her feel miserable. She could not describe everything that was going through her brain, but I saw that she was confused, irritable, had new leg pain and a Rash developed. When she called the doctor about the Rash he finally told her to stop taking it. This did not give her immediate relief. Some of the symptoms continued, especially the far out-of-character mood swings. During one mood swing she tripped and fell and became someone I had never seen before. She acted like a child, screamed at the top of her lungs and accused me of "Chest Bumping" her, even though this was impossible. Needless to say I went to jail that night for "Assault" and it took several weeks before the drugs were out of her system enough that she realized what happened. Her depression over the whole incident led her to believe I had left her because of her behavior, although I was not allowed to have any contact with her. Because we had no contact and she was not included in court proceedings, eventually I felt the best thing to do was plead "No Contest" where I was given credit for the time I served and probation. Eventually she attempted to contact me and learned what had happened and immediately had the court remove the no contact order. To this day we are still not allowed to live together or have much more than telephone contact. No matter what she says now, she is always treated like my "victim" and as if she is too stupid to leave an abuser. Unfortunately she has suffered worse than myself because I have always been her care giver and she has been forced to care for herself when she is frequently in too much pain and too exhausted to get out of bed. I hope there is a special hell for those who push this irresponsible drug on victims like my wife.
