If you or someone in your family has experienced a serious side effect to a health product, you are encouraged to report the experience to your health care professional (e.g. physician, pharmacist). You could also complete a copy of the side effect reporting form or report your side effect to FDA.

Side effects reports are analyzed to discover potential health product safety signals. Some important reactions may take an extremely long time to develop or occur infrequently. Continued monitoring of adverse reactions is thus essential to maintain a comprehensive safety and effectiveness profile of health products.

Lexatin Side Effects Reported to FDA

The following Lexatin reports list potential signals of serious risks and new safety information that were identified using the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS).
FAERS is a database that contains information on adverse event and medication errors reports submitted to FDA by healthcare professionals (such as physicians, pharmacists, nurses and others), consumers (such as patients, family members, layers and others) and manufacturers.

The appearance of Lexatin on this list does not mean that FDA has concluded that the drug has the listed risk. It means that FDA has identified a potential safety issue, but it does not mean that FDA has found a causal relationship between the drug and the listed risk.
Renal Failure Chronic, Diarrhoea
This is a report of a 84-year-old female patient (weight: NA) from SPAIN, suffering from the following symptoms/conditions: NA, who was treated with Lexatin (dosage: NA, start time: Nov 01, 2011), combined with:
  • Azilect (1 Mg Daily)
  • Stalevo 100 (50/12.5/200 Mg Mg Every 8 Hours Oral)
  • Atacand
and developed a serious reaction and side effect(s). The consumer presented with:
  • Renal Failure Chronic
  • Diarrhoea
which developed after the beginning of treatment. This case can indicate the possible existence of increased vulnerability to Lexatin treatment in female patients, resulting in renal failure chronic side effect. The patient was hospitalized.

Cardiac Pacemaker Replacement
This report suggests a potential Lexatin Cardiac Pacemaker Replacement side effect(s) that can have serious consequences. A female patient (weight: NA) from SPAIN was diagnosed with the following symptoms/conditions: anxiety, gastritis prophylaxis, depression, cardiac disorder and used Lexatin (dosage: 1.5 Mg, Qd) starting Jan 29, 2012. Soon after starting Lexatin the patient began experiencing various side effects, including:
  • Cardiac Pacemaker Replacement
Drugs used concurrently:
  • Opiren (30 Mg, Qd)
  • Fluoxetine (20 Mg, Qd)
  • Candesartan Cilexetil (16 Mg, Bid)
  • Tramadol Hcl (1 Df, Qd)
  • Forteo (20 Ug, Qd)
  • Simvastatin (40 Mg, Qd)
  • Libradin (20 Mg, Bid)
  • Calcium Carbonate (Unk, Qd)
The patient was hospitalized. Although Lexatin demonstrated significant improvements in a number of clinically relevant cases, troublesome symptoms, such as cardiac pacemaker replacement, may still occur.

Syncope
This Syncope problem was reported by a pharmacist from SPAIN. A 64-year-old female patient (weight: NA) was diagnosed with the following symptoms/conditions: NA. On Nov 03, 2011 this consumer started treatment with Lexatin (dosage: NA). The following drugs were being taken at the same time:
  • Rebetol (200 Mg;bid;po)
  • Pegasys (180 Mg; Im)
  • Torsemide
  • Lyrica
When commencing Lexatin, the patient experienced the following unwanted symptoms/side effects:
  • Syncope
Although all drugs are carefully tested before they are licensed for use, they carry side effect risks. Some side effects, such as syncope, may become evident only after a product is in use by the general population.

Haemoptysis, Wound Infection
This is a report of a female patient (weight: NA) from SPAIN. The patient developed the following symptoms/conditions: NA and was treated with Lexatin (dosage: 1 Df, Qd) starting May 13, 2011. Concurrently used drugs:

  • Forteo (20 Ug, Qd)
  • Prozac (2 Df, Qd)
Soon after that, the consumer experienced the following side effects:
  • Haemoptysis
  • Wound Infection
The patient was hospitalized. This opens a possibility that Lexatin treatment could cause the above reactions, including haemoptysis, and some female subjects may be more susceptible.

Ileus Paralytic, Hyponatraemia, Neutropenia
A 60-year-old male patient (weight: NA) from SPAIN with the following symptoms/conditions: NA started Lexatin treatment (dosage: NA) on Sep 28, 2011. Soon after starting Lexatin treatment, the subject experienced various side effects, including:

The patient was hospitalized. This finding indicates that some male patients could be more vulnerable to Lexatin.

Abasia, Gastrointestinal Necrosis, Cardiac Aneurysm, Colostomy, Wound Secretion, Rectal Abscess, Embolism
A female patient from SPAIN (weight: NA) experienced symptoms, such as: anxiety, mental disorder, spinal cord compression and was treated with Lexatin(dosage: 1.5 Mg, Qd). The treatment was initiated on Jan 01, 2010. After that a consumer reported the following side effect(s):
