Male patient, 83 years of age, was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome and was treated with MELPHALAN. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following problems/side effects: anaemia, neutropenia, renal failure acute. MELPHALAN dosage: 2MG EVERY DAY PO. During the same period patient was treated with THALIDOMIDE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

MELPHALAN dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with PREDNISOLONE, VINCRISTINE, IDARUBICIN, DEXAMETHASONE, INTERFERON ALFA, AREDIA. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following problems/side effects: cardiac arrest, cardiac failure congestive, hypotension, left ventricular dysfunction, renal impairment, stem cell transplant, stenotrophomonas infection, supraventricular tachycardia. MELPHALAN dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with FLUDARABINE PHOSPHATE, METHYLPREDNISOLONE, ATGAM. Patient died on 09/08/2007.
