If you or someone in your family has experienced a serious side effect to a health product, you are encouraged to report the experience to your health care professional (e.g. physician, pharmacist). You could also complete a copy of the side effect reporting form or report your side effect to FDA.

Side effects reports are analyzed to discover potential health product safety signals. Some important reactions may take an extremely long time to develop or occur infrequently. Continued monitoring of adverse reactions is thus essential to maintain a comprehensive safety and effectiveness profile of health products.

Tanganil Side Effects Reported to FDA

The following Tanganil reports list potential signals of serious risks and new safety information that were identified using the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS).
FAERS is a database that contains information on adverse event and medication errors reports submitted to FDA by healthcare professionals (such as physicians, pharmacists, nurses and others), consumers (such as patients, family members, layers and others) and manufacturers.

The appearance of Tanganil on this list does not mean that FDA has concluded that the drug has the listed risk. It means that FDA has identified a potential safety issue, but it does not mean that FDA has found a causal relationship between the drug and the listed risk.
Acute Myeloid Leukaemia
This is a report of a 56-year-old female patient (weight: NA) from FRANCE, suffering from the following symptoms/conditions: meniere's disease, paraesthesia, who was treated with Tanganil (dosage: NA, start time: Nov 01, 2005), combined with:
  • Lyrica
  • Alfuzosin Hcl
  • Solu-medrol
  • Omeprazole
  • Betaserc
  • Progesterone
  • Avonex
and developed a serious reaction and side effect(s). The consumer presented with:
  • Acute Myeloid Leukaemia
which developed after the beginning of treatment. This case can indicate the possible existence of increased vulnerability to Tanganil treatment in female patients, resulting in acute myeloid leukaemia side effect. The patient was hospitalized.

Autoimmune Hepatitis
This report suggests a potential Tanganil Autoimmune Hepatitis side effect(s) that can have serious consequences. A 35-year-old female patient (weight: NA) from FRANCE was diagnosed with the following symptoms/conditions: dizziness, multiple sclerosis and used Tanganil (dosage: NA) starting Dec 13, 2011. Soon after starting Tanganil the patient began experiencing various side effects, including:
  • Autoimmune Hepatitis
Drugs used concurrently:
  • Tysabri
Although Tanganil demonstrated significant improvements in a number of clinically relevant cases, troublesome symptoms, such as autoimmune hepatitis, may still occur.

Herpes Zoster, Agranulocytosis
This Herpes Zoster, Agranulocytosis problem was reported by a health professional from FRANCE. A 65-year-old female patient (weight: NA) was diagnosed with the following symptoms/conditions: dizziness, tracheitis. On Sep 03, 2011 this consumer started treatment with Tanganil (dosage: Unk). The following drugs were being taken at the same time:
  • Ibuprofen (advil) (1 Df, 3x/day)
When commencing Tanganil, the patient experienced the following unwanted symptoms/side effects:
  • Herpes Zoster
  • Agranulocytosis
The patient was hospitalized.Although all drugs are carefully tested before they are licensed for use, they carry side effect risks. Some side effects, such as herpes zoster, may become evident only after a product is in use by the general population.

Herpes Zoster, Agranulocytosis
This is a report of a 65-year-old female patient (weight: NA) from FRANCE. The patient developed the following symptoms/conditions: dizziness, tracheitis and was treated with Tanganil (dosage: Unk) starting Sep 03, 2011. Concurrently used drugs:
  • Ibuprofen (advil) (1 Df, 3x/day)
Soon after that, the consumer experienced the following side effects:
  • Herpes Zoster
  • Agranulocytosis
The patient was hospitalized. This opens a possibility that Tanganil treatment could cause the above reactions, including herpes zoster, and some female subjects may be more susceptible.

Colitis, Rectal Haemorrhage, Pulmonary Oedema
A 77-year-old female patient (weight: NA) from FRANCE with the following symptoms/conditions: NA started Tanganil treatment (dosage: 50 Ml, Q8h) on Feb 10, 2009. Soon after starting Tanganil treatment, the subject experienced various side effects, including:
  • Colitis
  • Rectal Haemorrhage
  • Pulmonary Oedema
Concurrently used drugs:
  • Denosumab (60 Mg, Q6mo)
  • Unifluid (Unk Unk, Qd)
  • Orocal D3 (Unk Unk, Bid)
The patient was hospitalized. This finding indicates that some female patients could be more vulnerable to Tanganil.

Pneumoperitoneum, Renal Failure, Sigmoiditis, Fall, Balance Disorder
A 69-year-old female patient from FRANCE (weight: NA) experienced symptoms, such as: NA and was treated with Tanganil(dosage: NA). The treatment was initiated on NS. After that a consumer reported the following side effect(s):

  • Irbesartan + Hydrochlorothiazide
  • Detensiel
  • Vastarel
The patient was hospitalized.

Pulmonary Oedema, Haemorrhage, Proctocolitis

  • Orocal D3 (Unk Unk, Bid)
  • Denosumab (60 Mg, Q6mo)
  • Unifluid (Unk Unk, Qd)
The patient was hospitalized.Establishing a causal relationship between a specific drug and consumer's side effects is complex, but it is possible that in this report Tanganil treatment could be related to the listed above side effect(s).

Arthralgia, Burning Sensation, Visual Field Defect
This is a report of the following Tanganil side effect(s):
  • Arthralgia
  • Burning Sensation
  • Visual Field Defect
A 53-year-old female patient from FRANCE (weight: NA) presented with the following condition: vertigo, gastrooesophageal reflux prophylaxis and received a treatment with Tanganil (dosage: 500 Mg, 1x/day) starting: Nov 17, 2010.The following concurrently used drugs could have generated interactions:
