This case suggests a potential Medrol Dyspnoea side effect(s) that can have serious consequences. A 44-year-old patient from BE (weight:NA) was diagnosed with the following health condition(s): asthma,insulin resistance and used Medrol (dosage: 32 Mg, 1x/day) starting Jan 18, 2012. Soon after starting Medrol the patient began experiencing various side effects, including:
  • Cushing^s Syndrome
  • Localised Oedema
  • Dyspnoea
  • Skin Striae
  • Myopathy
  • Insulin Resistance
Drugs used concurrently:
  • Glucophage (500 Mg, 2x/day)
  • Zaldiar (1 Df, 1x/day)
  • Burinex (5 Mg, 1x/day)
  • Aldactone (100 Mg, 1x/day)
  • Inuvair (Unk)
  • Ventolin (Unk)
  • Pantomed (40 Mg, 2x/day)
  • Brexine (2 Mg, 1x/day)
  • The patient was hospitalized. Although Medrol demonstrated significant improvements in a number of clinically relevant cases, troublesome symptoms, such as Dyspnoea, may still occur.

    Adverse event was reported on Sep 16, 2013 by a male taking Medrol (Dosage: NA) . Location: NO , 82 years of age, Directly after treatment started, patient experienced the unwanted or unexpected Medrol side effects: duodenal ulcer haemorrhage, chest pain, vomiting.

    Rash Maculo-papular, Aphthous Stomatitis, Genital Ulceration, Eyelid Oedema, Pyrexia, Eosinophil Percentage Increased, Alanine Aminotransferase Increased, Aspartate Aminotransferase Increased, Gamma-glutamyltransferase Increased

    This Pyrexia problem was reported by a physician from HR. A 4-year-old female patient (weight: NA) was diagnosed with the following medical condition(s): NA.On Oct 18, 2013 a consumer started treatment with Medrol (dosage: 64 Mg). The following health products were being taken at the same time: NA. When commencing Medrol, the patient experienced the following unwanted symptoms /side effects:
    • Rash Maculo-papular
    • Aphthous Stomatitis
    • Genital Ulceration
    • Eyelid Oedema
    • Pyrexia
    • Eosinophil Percentage Increased
    • Alanine Aminotransferase Increased
    • Aspartate Aminotransferase Increased
    • Gamma-glutamyltransferase Increased
    The patient was hospitalized. Although all health products are carefully tested before they are licensed for use, they carry potential side effect risks. Some side effects, such as Pyrexia, may become evident only after a product is in use by the general population.

    A case of a 42-year-old female patient (weight: NA) from NO was presented. The patient developed the following symptoms/conditions: nausea,breast cancer metastatic and was treated with Medrol (dosage: 32 Mg, 1x/day) starting Oct 25, 2012. Concurrently used drugs:
  • Trastuzumab-dm1 (270 Mg, Unk)
  • Neurontin (600 Mg, 3x/day)
  • Somac (40 Mg, 1x/day)
  • Oxycodone (10 Mg, 2x/day)
  • Fentanyl (200 Ug)
  • Soon after that, the subject experienced the following of symptoms:
    • Metastases To Lung
    • Metastatic Neoplasm
    • Disease Progression
    • Pneumonia
    • Dizziness
    • Constipation
    • Vomiting
    • Myalgia
    • Fatigue
    The patient was hospitalized. This opens a possibility that Medrol could cause Pneumonia and that some female subjects may be more susceptible.
