Methotrexate Mucosal Inflammation Causes and Reviews

Normally, your cells grow and die in a controlled way. Cancer cells keep growing without control. Chemotherapy is drug therapy for cancer. It works by killing the cancer cells, stopping them from spreading, or slowing their growth. However, it can also harm healthy cells, which causes side effects.

You may have a lot of side effects, some, or none at all. It depends on the type and amount of chemotherapy you get and how your body reacts. Some common side effects are fatigue, nausea, vomiting, pain, and hair loss. There are ways to prevent or control some side effects. Talk with your health care provider about how to manage them. Healthy cells usually recover after chemotherapy is over, so most side effects gradually go away.

Your treatment plan will depend on the cancer type, the chemotherapy drugs used, the treatment goal, and how your body responds. Chemotherapy may be given alone or with other treatments. You may get treatment every day, every week, or every month. You may have breaks between treatments so that your body has a chance to build new healthy cells. You might take the drugs by mouth, in a shot, as a cream, or intravenously (by IV).

Methotrexate Mucosal Inflammation Reviews

Mon, 21 Feb 2011

My 27 years of MTX therapy have prevented physical deformity but caused me to have damage to my lungs. I am short of breath on any activity. MTX helped the pain somewhat but at the cost of my lungs? I was never told about this possibility nor told it ultimately RA could be fatal. I am only in my 50's not ready to die yet!

Hi I haven't had any side effects for the past six years of Methotrexate. but recently I am having some stomach discomfort like as soon as i eat something i have the slight discomfort on my abdoman. I take a glass of green leaf juice and i am fine again. I would want to know if I should reduce the dose.

I just started Methotrexate, I started itching in the same areas where I had experienced itching with the chicken pox 2 years ago. I am a 51 year old female who contracted chicken pox at 49 years old. This frightens me as I know this can cause disseminated herpes which can be potentially fatal. My Rheum told me to take Benadryl. I believe this is going to be my one and only shot this drug scares the death out of me.
