Metoprolol Dizziness Causes and Reviews

When you're dizzy, you may feel lightheaded, woozy, or disoriented. If you feel like you or the room are spinning, you have vertigo. These feelings may make you lose your balance.

Dizziness can have many different causes. A sudden drop in blood pressure or being dehydrated can make you dizzy. Many people feel lightheaded if they get up too quickly from sitting or lying down. Certain medicines and problems with your inner ear may cause Dizziness. So can motion sickness. Sometimes Dizziness can be a symptom of other disorders.

As people get older, they may have more health problems and take more medicines. This makes them more likely to have problems with Dizziness and balance.

Dizziness usually gets better by itself or is easily treated. If you are dizzy often, you should see your health care provider to find the cause.

Metoprolol Dizziness Reviews

Tue, 27 Apr 2010
Metoprolol ... for moderate HBP Taking Metoprolol for about 10 days put me in the hospital emergency room with Brady Cardia, sever Dizziness and exhaustion, and rapid weight gain. That was four months ago and I have not completely recovered. I am still exhausted and suffer from lack of balance and am so dizzy that I have to use a cane to get around. Also I had put on 30 pounds within that first month that I started taking the Metoprolol, and now because I can't get around I am still carrying that extra weight. no one has been able to help me. I am frustrated and angry and feel helpless.

i've been on the generic Metoprolol for 3 days. dr. started me on 25mg 2x per day and i've been experiencing shortness of breath, chest discomfort and Dizziness. i cut the dosage down to 6.5mg per day and feel a little better (palpations have stabilized) but still having some chest discomfort and mild fluttering. now after reading many of the posts here, i just want to stop taking this med fearing it will triger some other long term side effect. i still don't feel well and am very worried. any suggestions?

i was prescribed Metoprolol-betazok25 to treat my mild hypertension. for more than a month now, i am having bouts of Dizziness and head-related discomfort. before i blame this to my eyeglasses but it seems that it is due to this medicine. my total blood chem and other tests are all normal. could my Dizziness be only a reaction to this drug i am taking? ive told my dr bout it but he told me i am ok and the dose he gave is only very low. my blood pressure still rises to 140/100 at times in spite of the med which make me more dizzy. do u suggest i need to change my medication?
