This case suggests a potential Monuril(fosfomycin) Abdominal Pain side effect(s) that can have serious consequences. A 43-year-old female patient from ITALY (weight:NA) was diagnosed with the following health condition(s): cystitis haemorrhagic and used Monuril(fosfomycin) (dosage: 3 G Once Po) starting Jan 28, 2008. Soon after starting Monuril(fosfomycin) the patient began experiencing various side effects, including:
  • Abdominal Pain
  • Diarrhoea
Drugs used concurrently:
  • Depakin (valproate Sodium)
  • Clonazepam
  • Zolpidem Tartrate
  • Although Monuril(fosfomycin) demonstrated significant improvements in a number of clinically relevant cases, troublesome symptoms, such as Abdominal Pain, may still occur.

    Associated medications used:
    • Depakin (valproate Sodium)

    • Zolpidem Tartrate

    This Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome problem was reported by a consumer or non-health professional from FRANCE. A 38-year-old female patient (weight: NA) was diagnosed with the following medical condition(s): urinary tract infection,psoriasis.On Oct 06, 2005 a consumer started treatment with Monuril (dosage: 3 G, Once/single). The following health products were being taken at the same time:
  • Diprosone
  • Lamisil (250 Mg, Qd)
  • When commencing Monuril, the patient experienced the following unwanted symptoms /side effects:
    • Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome
    • Cheilitis
    • Coma
    • Dermatitis Exfoliative
    • Eye Disorder
    • Hearing Impaired
    • Hyperkeratosis
    • Hypoaesthesia
    • Influenza
    The patient was hospitalized. Although all health products are carefully tested before they are licensed for use, they carry potential side effect risks. Some side effects, such as Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, may become evident only after a product is in use by the general population.

    A case of a 38-year-old female patient (weight: NA) from FRANCE was presented. The patient developed the following symptoms/conditions: urinary tract infection,psoriasis and was treated with Monuril (dosage: 3 G, Once/single) starting Oct 06, 2005. Concurrently used drugs:
  • Diprosone
  • Lamisil (250 Mg, Qd)
  • Soon after that, the subject experienced the following of symptoms:
    • Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome
    • Cheilitis
    • Coma
    • Dermatitis Exfoliative
    • Eye Disorder
    • Hearing Impaired
    • Hyperkeratosis
    • Hypoaesthesia
    • Influenza
    The patient was hospitalized. This opens a possibility that Monuril could cause Cheilitis and that some female subjects may be more susceptible.

Directly after treatment started, patient experienced the unwanted or unexpected Monuril side effects: acute respiratory distress syndrome, cheilitis, coma, dermatitis exfoliative, eye disorder, hearing impaired, hyperkeratosis, hypoaesthesia, influenza. Monuril dosage: 3 G, Once/single.
    Associated medications used:
    • Diprosone
    • Lamisil (250 Mg, Qd)
    The patient was hospitalized.
