Resolved Question: saw a commercial and i can't remember the name of the supplement?
(Mon, 26 Oct 2009 15:51:16 GMT)
I saw a commercial with a lady the other day talking about how she gained back natural energy she had when she was younger, it had a very "sally field boniva" feel to it anyway she ice skated around and talked about how this formula helped work with metabolism to give you a natural energy to stay away from energy drinks. I think it started with a Q and is an over the counter sold in stores product... Has anyone else this commercial or heard of this new "drug/supplement'? i would like to invest

Resolved Question: Is Boniva an example of the "Death Panels" Republicans keep talking about?
(Sat, 24 Oct 2009 05:31:27 GMT)
"...Boniva’s convenient, sure. But as the Adwatch video explains, that convenience comes at a price—it can set you back about 10 times the cost of the similar drug alendronate (the generic version of Fosamax). No wonder Boniva’s backers, Roche and GlaxoSmithKline can afford to invest in a big-name celebrity to pitch it. Interestingly, studies don’t show that Boniva is any more effective than other bisphosphonates. So unless you absolutely can’t tolerate a weekly dosing schedule, it makes sense

Voting Question: Cause of the symptom "can't or stand for 1 hour?"?
(Sun, 23 Aug 2009 02:14:49 GMT)
I was watching a commercial for Boniva and they said don't take it if you can't sit or stand for 1 hour? I assume this is because the symptom is a sign of a higher level condition causing this. What medical condition would cause this? What would happen to a person afflicted with it if they did sit or stand for say 3 hours? @Jandy's response, this question really is not related to Boniva or what it treats at all. A commercial for Boniva just happened to be the source the curiosity for my ro

Resolved Question: Medications for Lupus Erythematosus and Fibromyalgia?
(Sun, 09 Aug 2009 23:05:35 GMT)
I have a neice who has Fibromyalgia and Lupus and has been living with it for quite sometime. The medications she takes is Medrol, Imuran, Plaquenil, Boniva and Tylenol #4 (For Pain). She fights with depression and often states that she is in pain ALL THE TIME. While, I do not doubt what she says because she has the physical symptoms. Twisted fingers (such as in Rheumatoid Arthritis), constant swelling, etc. However, here lately, her specialist has prescribed her "muscle relaxers" such as

Resolved Question: Is doing aerobic exercise everyday bad for you?
(Wed, 13 May 2009 13:01:06 GMT)
I've been power walking everyday for 45 minutes to an hour for a couple of months and I also do light weights 3 hours a week but my husband says it can be dangerous. He has known people who exercised everyday and at some point they stopped because they went on vacation and got heart attacks because their bodies were not getting the exercise they had become used to. How much is too much? I need the exercise because my bones show low density (osteopenia) and I can't tolerate medications like Ac

Resolved Question: Depletes your Calcium? MMA / Broken Bone?
(Sun, 26 Apr 2009 23:59:19 GMT)
I've noticed a few people in MMA with broken bones, eg. Shamrock's ForeArm and a few others with Broken Tibias and it got me thinking a bit. I realize that certain drugs like Ibuprofen/ Aspirin deplete your body of Folic Acid/C/Potassium, however is there a drug that accidentally/haphazardly deplete your bone of Calcium? For example, I believe Boniva (sp?) strengthens woman's bones for osteoporosis, however did some drug company accidentally make a pill that did the opposite affect of Boni

Resolved Question: Boniva-I have been taking it for 2 months. My muscles and joints hurt alot. Does anyone else have this problem?
(Sun, 23 Nov 2008 13:16:42 GMT)
I don't know if the pain is connected to the Boniva, but it seems to have happened at the same time. As I only take this once a month, I won't take the next dose. Will the pain go away? I really would like to hear from someone if you have the same problem. Thanks

Resolved Question: Other Bone Fracture Medcines? My mother can't take Fosamax and her doctor will not prescribe Boniva. Why?
(Sun, 28 Sep 2008 01:33:58 GMT)
The only reason he has given her for not prescribing Boniva is that Boniva is a newer drug and there has not been adequate testing. Currently she is taking nothing. I am very concerned because my mother is 84 and every time she falls she breaks something. She has broken a toe, a rib, a wrist, and a shoulder.

Resolved Question: Does anyone here buy generic Boniva? (please read details)?
(Fri, 19 Sep 2008 16:55:34 GMT)
All I'm asking is if anyone here buys generic Boniva. I know that pharmacists say that it's not available yet, but there are some Canadian prarmacies that are selling what they claim is generic Boniva. This makes me wonder if perhaps it (GENERIC Boniva) is simply not available for purchase in United States, but available for purchase in Canada and other countries. So, does anyone here buy generic Boniva? Penny, you're wrong. I finally found all answers I needed. Ibandronate Sodium is t

Well the crap bass mixed with the top of the line strings stretched the neck and killed the bass...permenantely. So now I gotta buy a new bass. My grandma is extremely sick right now. She took Boniva and is experiencing extremely bad side-effects. Her back is killing her. She has super bad diarrhea. And is about to cry. Please help. I don't know what to do. My mom called some people and there are no doctors there to help my grandma. She's extremely sick. Please. And she says she isn't breathing well. Should we just take her to the hospital? My mom called some doctors but unless she's a post-operation patient (which she isn't) they ar

Resolved Question: Why can't I drink flavored water with Fosamax or Boniva?
(Fri, 20 Jun 2008 00:13:52 GMT)

Resolved Question: benzodiazepines showed up in a urine test. As a holistic, natural foods user, what could have caused this?
(Thu, 19 Jun 2008 10:50:35 GMT)
(Actually, I'm almost 60 and just took it as a "baseline" for a relative, who questioned the validity of a test!). Last took Boniva 10 days ago, vitamins 2 days prior, but did take L-Arginine (Twinlab, 500mg) evening prior as well as an Advil for muscle aches. On day prior to test, had almonds in morning and at lunch - my ultimate no-no, a macadamia cookie, then a raw ph vegetable juice, plus water. Could ANY OF THIS have triggered it?

Resolved Question: Trouble after Boniva IV?
(Sat, 10 May 2008 18:23:31 GMT)
I have had serious side effects after two Boniva IV. I would like to know if anyone else has suffered as much as I have, and how long it took for the symptoms to leave. After the first Boniva IV (long-lasting, 3 months) I started having a lot of health problems but didn't connect the dots to Boniva. Resolved Question: Osteoporsis meds. My wife is a petite, caucasian, 61 year old female with a bad case of osteoporsis.?
(Sun, 30 Mar 2008 18:52:26 GMT)
Boniva and Fosamax both gave her acid reflux bad enough to make her quit taking them. Reclast is a once a year intravenous drip. Does anyone know if reclast has side effects, and if so, what and how long? Also do you know how much it costs? There is a once a year shot as well but I need to know the name of that too. People say 'ask your doctor' but some of these are so new, that some of the doctors dont know yet. Please help--she has the bones of an 80 year old woman.

Resolved Question: Has anyone else had problems with Fosamax (bisphosphonate)? What about Boniva (Ibandronate sodium)?
(Mon, 10 Mar 2008 17:52:44 GMT)
I'm pushing 60 and started Fosamax about 3 years ago according to directions. It destroyed my lower esophagus so much that I couldn't even drink small amounts of water before going for a walk without the water coming back up. I'd never had any problems prior to the drug and then spoke to an old friend who said the identical thing happened to her. She even got scoped to make sure no cancer was developing. So, I'd like to know if anyone has had problems with Boniva along these lines? Any s
