i'm 18 and she's 18 too . i met her 2 years ago. back then she was drinking beer out of her father's stock without her parents knowing. but now things have gotten worse. i usually down like 2 beers a day , but she can drink up a whole pack of beers easily . i'm worried about this as everytime we go for parties she drinks a lot and does weird stuff. she seems to be intoxicated even in school . her friends call her alchoholic . i too think she is because i know the symptoms of over using alchol. she's so skinny because she has lost her appetite because of heavy drinking. she's always weak and so pale like paper. she can't go a single day without drinking. Now that she's 18 she defends herself saying she can use alchohol legally. please help . i'm so worried

Dopamine blockers block the neurotransmitter of reward, joy, and satisfaction so much that changing position doesn't even give any relief. So, one automatically struggles to find the right positions, and this is tardive diskinesia.
Dopamine definately doesn't cause psychosis. Dopamine blockers are given to devastate its victims into compliance. Dopamine blockers are a violation of the Eight Amendment. Dopamine blockers are "cruel and unusual punishment".
Cocaine is a MAO inhibitor and thereby causes extra dopamine to accumulate in the nerve gaps. My cousin Al lived with a cocaine addict, the most severe addiction, and that cocaine addict was not psychotic when high on cocaine. The severity of the withdrawal is like being on dopamine blockers, for, with the use of cocaine the brain's manufacture of dopamine slows way down.
My cousin Al was coerced on dopamine blockers. He couldn't quite have real sleep, and, he was tired and in torment all day from the dopamine blockers.

I've had ringing in the years for a long time now and have been to several hearing specialists and none have ever recommended a treatment which would do away with it. They always just prescribe hearing aids!

I am on my 7th day of alcohol abstinence, still on detox process and has started anti craving medications campral and naltrexone already. Doctor suggested me to abastain from alcohol for atleast three months to prevent relapse. I am happy to wait and hopefully this medication will help me to gain my control over alcohol. But if it goes again out of my hands I will not go for another detox for sure. I would rather die with it than live rest of my life without alcohol. I am only 25 yr old. Its too early for me give up the booze forever. I am a shy guy too unlike other people I cant have any fun in my life without Alcohol. I am nothing without it. I am curious to know whether anyone has successfully transformed from an Alcoholic to a social drinker.

Last year my GP gave me Zoloft for my depression. Since then, I have received 2 DUI's, 3 drunk in publics and have been TDO'd several times. I have been given Campral, anti-buse and Buspar to compensate for the Zoloft not being effective enough. Recently I saw an ad on TV that said Abilify may help with my depression if I add that to the Lexapro. Since then, my doctor has had his license taken away due to sexually harassing his patients. Should I find a new doctor and try the Abilify? Does anyone think this will help?

I have been a very heavy nightly drinker of wine for the past 5-6 years.
I recently decided to quite after finally waking up to what harm i am doing myself.
I had my last drink roughly 39 hours ago.
Up to this point i notice only mild nausea, irritability and a slight headache.
No shaking or trembling or other effects i am aware of.
Do you think at this point i am still at much risk of any of the severe withdrawals or is it possible i could be lucky?
I do have some diazepam as a substitute if my symptoms do get more serious.
Any advise much appreciated.
many thanks.

Had to go to the emegency room I've been taking Campral for only about 3 weeks, and well under standard dosage. Another thing I just started using is "Absorbable" Calcium made by Puritan's Pride. It's a huge 1200 mg capsule. After the calcium the next highest ingredient is SOYBEAN OIL.. and it has SOY LETHICIN. I don't know about soybean oil, but I am allergic to peanuts. I'm beginning to think I rushed to judgement with the CAMPRAL. I am 56 years old.
I was prescribed 40 mg Prednisone per day for 3 days. Took the first 6 hrs ago.. still swollen and sometimes painful.
Any thoughts?

I am now determined on trying a 3 pronged attack which involves Campral, counselling, and hopefully Antabuse.
Are there any key points to remember in my struggle as I get released from hospital soon, and some wise words/key goals to aim for would help.I am 34 and have been battling this for a while though it's all come to a head now. Please don't mention AA as amazingly AA seems to make me twice as worse when I do relapse. There is no magic wand I know but was there anything that saw someone through the other side of this hell. ould like some kind of life back.Thanks.

Hello, my boyfriend and I have gone through a lot during our relationship. He's been dealing with alcoholism, and I have been helping him quit drinking. 99% of the problems in our relationship stem from his drinking. About 6 months ago, he and I were going through a rough patch. He got very drunk one night, and fooled around with another girl. He was extremely repentant afterwords, and has not spoken with her since. We have since made amends and gotten back together. He has also really cut back on his drinking, and has not been drunk since that day...until recently. I found out recently that he has cheated on me again. (I'm currently studying abroad in another country, and was informed of his actions by a friend). Apparently, he got really drunk again, and was dancing inappropriately with another girl, who proceeded to touch him inappropriately. The worst part is, he never told me about this. He said he was "planning on telling me when the time was right". When I found out, I immedi

I think I found the cause of my Tinnitus. About 6 months ago shot a rifle for the first time without ear plugs and it made my ears ring.
About a month ago noticed a slight ringing in my right ear when my ears are covered and sometimes when they're not.
Went to the ENT to have it checked. 3 tests: Hearing, Ear Hair Health (the tiny hairs that would be damaged from loud noise), and Pressure/Fluid Check.
Tests show no hearing loss (hearing is good), Hairs are fine (no damage), And no pressure/fluids.
Buddy said he used to shoot and knows people who hunt without ear plugs, and they don't have ringing.
I do have a slight case of TMJ, my jaw pops sometimes when chewing and when I open it wide, but I've always had this with no tinnitus.
So I guess the gunshot did it???? The ENT said it is possible.
Since my ear is fine, will the Tinnitus eventually dim, or subside, and go away? If not what can I do to make that happen?
Also, Do you think it could have been from the gunshot?
I ju

I have always been able to out drink my friends but the amount I have to drink now is ridiculous. I drink 10+ beers and still need more. Tonight i drank a 26er of rum and still im not drunk or stimulated in any way. I'm getting annoyed that i spend money to get drunk and end up drinking all night, not feeling good and having an uber headache all through the night without a wink of sleep. What I really want out of drinking is to be able to drink and have a good nights sleep since i have so many mental illnesses to name i cannot sleep. Yea mental like insomnia, clinical depression, anxiety, psychosis, fibromyalgia. I cannot get a buzz anymore. Used to enjoy the cannabis it was my wonder drug but now every time i smoke i feel like i'm losing my cool and get real freaked out and it was never like this before. so i drink and all i can say is i hate it all and fuck me i am not worthy to be alive my mom shouldve had an abortion

I am a moderate smoker. I can take it or leave it without much discomfort. I take Campral to help curb my craving to drink. I have noticed that I don't really crave a cigarette as bad since I have been taking the medication. I have a friend who has a very serious smoking problem. I was wondering if Campral would help with her fight her cigarette addiction.

My brother keeps on smoking cigaretts, weed and popping strong medication pills. He is 18 and it's sad to see this happening, I sometimes see him falling half asleep while he is on the computer or generally just standing! Because he is so drugged out and the problem just gets worse. Anyways he has lost a lot of weight and I feel like we are not very close together, no more. He keeps on lying about going to college and delays and also lies to my parents. I don't think he cares much, but I do. And he is a smart guy, and has sympathy for people. he helps people out all the time, even strangers and hobos who are out in the street, he gives em cash and a cigaret. I don't know what to do.

I can't seem to stop drinking for more than a day or 2. It's not that I get the shakes or sick or anything like that, but I just like the effects/buzz that I get from it and I seem to be drawn to it at the end of a long hard day. I have gone a day or 2 w/out it and DO NOT feel the with-drawls per say but I just seem to be drawn to it.So the question is..... How long do I have to stop drinking before I can take Campral? I feel as though if I can go a few weeks or so w/out alcohol that I can learn to live w/out it.I know that people are going to tell me that it's a life long struggle, and you are ALL might be right, but this is where I want to start and I do feel that I can do this with just a little help. I know this because this is what I was able to do with Cocaine, Ecstasy, and Crystal meth. It has been since 1998 since I have done any of those drugs. I had a little help and it went a long way for me. So I am hoping I am not wrong with my perception of alcohol as well

My partner is a recovering alcoholic suffering from a whole array of different mental health problems.
The alcohol was his crutch to deal with these. He was handling things fine until he was taken off the diazepam. Now he's in a complete state verging on a nervous breakdown and about to fall off the wagon because drink is the only way he knows how to cope.
The doctor refuses to give him more diazepam as it's addictive. Whilst I do understand the doctors thinking, he won't give him anything else either. He says he has to deal with it without medication as they could all cause a dependency.
(He had Campral 333mg it had no effect)
If he's not given medication he will self medicate.
I need to know if the doctor is right. Is there nothing else he could be given besides diazepam? Or is he wrong? There are more options and I should visit another doctor.

I have been on Lexapro 10 mg for 3 months now for depression. I was put on it by my OB/GYN b/c I had a baby and immediately after my husband and I split and we are now going through a divorce. Yes, I am depressed and stressed, but I absolutely hate the side effects of Lexapro and don't really think it's doing all that much for me. I am tired ALL the time and can barely even keep my eyes open to drive sometimes. He says i am tired because I am depressed and I need a higher dose. I don't know if I want to do this, though. I like to have a couple drinks on the weekends, but ever since I started Lex, every time I drink, I blackout and don't remember anything. Also, the night-sweats are rediculous. I hate hate hate that side effect. Not to mention the sexual side effects, especially if I'm gonna be going back into the dating scene. I don't know if I should try the 20 mg or wean myself off of the 10 mg. Will it be harder to wean off of the 20 mg if I try it for a while? Confuse
