I've been prescribed a medicine called gabapentin for extreme nerve pain, and it says if you quit taking it abruptly it can cause seizures! However, this is also a seizure medication, so does this only apply to people who are taking it for seizures, or should I be worried about it?

She has been on benzoe's prescribed for 13 years. To be quite blunt she was brutally raped when she was thirteen, dragged into an alley, etc... Looks like hives on my friends back and buttocks. She was prescribed gabapentin for nerve pain two months ago and the hives showed up 2 weeks ago. Could it be the gabapentin?

Taking 15-20mg oxycodone for 20 days and would like to bring my tolerance down, I haven't taken any for 37 hours, if I take it tonight, you think tolerance is down. you see I don't want to run out of my script by taking more on some days, where in a day it could be 50-60mg that could happen 1-2 times in a week and I don't want to run out completely and have withdrawal problems so I still have it right now, just want to take it with a normal dose and not have to take more so i take a break and

gabapentin is safe to take if u dont have it presribed its 600 MG? and i dont got the hydrocone subsribed either SO HELP! And hydrocodone says watson 387 on it and its 700 MGi took one hydrocone already.. and im 15 i weigh about 160

I was recently prescribed Gabapentin for my anxiety. I would like to know if anyone has taken this and what were your side effects? I always read on my meds and I shouldn't. I really want to calm down but I get worked up just thinking about taking it. Can someone help me out? Thanks!

how effective is the birth control pill junel FE 1-20, a condom, and pulling out, against pregnancy ? i also take the antibiodic gabapentin (neurontin) for migraines but its a pill for epilepsy. I know some epileptic pills effect birth control and i dont know if this one does.

I've been doing a little research on Neurontin and I even looked up the MSDS for Gabapentin. No where can I find any listings on the Boiling point of gabapentin let alone its melting point... My original question to cause my research was to check when gabapentin melts, vaporizes, and if it decomposes anywhere along the way... Probably upon melting?

it has been causing frequent uncontrollable jaw clenching...and fidgeting...i would rather be on what im use to being on but im not sure my neurologist would agree while i was pregnant i was on percocet or vicodin for my migraines and that worked...if you include the gabapentin with everything else he's tried its 13things total...i just him to put me back on the vicodin or percocet...has anyone else ever heard of jaw clenching or fidgeting...i can't stay still!!! also...about a half hour after

She has a year old Cervical Spinal Cord Injury and is Tetraplegic. She has severe spasms,as a result, that are treated with Gabapentin and Baclofen. Careful inspection of the ear with a Q-Tip reveals blood in the Ear Canal. Her mobility is limited and a trip to the Doctor requires a lot of advanced planning, so any help would be gratefully received.

they are opiate based... Tramadol + Gabapentin/Neurontin ... I lost my leg in a car accident 5 years ago and have been on these everyday since, i need them, the pain is unbearable without them... I have a prosthesis though and get plenty of exercise and drink lots of water each day...

My wife under went a disarticulation of her left hip because of cancer. We wnt to know how long the fathom pains last. She is currently taking Percacet, visseril and Gabapentin. The Gabapentin is suppose to be for the fathom pains, but doesn't seem to be doing anything yet. Looking for some more insight, or someones experience. I have been taking 800mg of neurontin 4x a day for 6 years now for neuropathic pain all over my body. (I don't have epilepsy) I wanted to soon try to conceive but wished that there were more studies of this anticonvulsant drug and pregnancy. I thought it would help to stop the drug months before trying but would like to know the outcomes of some births with this drug.

I have had two shots which have done no good. Had an MRI showing nothing but normal aging of the spine. Had a nerve study done. He seemed to just want to focus on my foot. Got Gabapentin (pill) and have taken for a week but no results so far. The nerve study guy did seem to think there was nothing wrong with my back. Have done physical therapy no results. Been to the chiropractor no reuslts. I can hardly walk or stand so something is going on but no one seems to know what is causing it. S

Hi, I'm a 24 year old female, I'm 67" and have been 155 pounds since high school. I have severe low back pain due to spondylolisthesis and sciatica. I would like to lose 30 pounds, and realize this will take some time. What would be the best method for me to lose the weight. I'm not supposed to lift more than 20 pounds, and running is VERY painful. I walk as much as possible. I also take 1200 mg of Gabapentin and 10 mg of flexeril daily. Thanks!

Diagnosed last week or Multi level disc degeneration disease-I have CONSTANT pain in my arms and legs and feet-I was prescribed gabapentin but I am not sure if it will work or if it will just leave me drugged out. My question is has anyone had this that did not have surgery? Is there any other ways to help this without having surgery?

Diagnosed last week with Multi level disc degeneration disease-I have CONSTANT pain in my arms and legs and feet-I was prescribed gabapentin but I am not sure if it will work or if it will just leave me drugged out. I broke my hip and femur about a year ago and finally got off the fentanal (SP) patches, morphine, oxycontin and everything else. I feel much better that i am only taking these two and it really seems to work, the ultram seems to make me feel a little (loopy) like i did when i took the stronger opiates, but my brain and body energy are much better on these? But i do get pain about half-way through the day towards the end, i can deal with it most of the time, i am 27 years old...Any suggestio

My FM pain is more or less under control now that I'm on Gabapentin four times a day. But my fatigue comes and goes. I can feel good one day and make it through the day without a nap then bam the next day I might sleep 11 hours through the night, and be sleepy all day and even need a 2-3 hour nap before sleeping another 11 hours the next night. Then it will break and I'll have a few days of having a normal amount of energy again. Is this consistent with your FM fatigue symptoms?

I have peripheral neuropathy - burning, tingling in my feet. I am on Gabapentin I have had all the tests done. I am wondering if there are any comments about food helping this and food to avoid. Any other suggestions to help with the neurapathy will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I started taking Gabapentin for Fybromyalgia ( I also have social phobia and mood disorder ) and the next day I felt normal mentally and physically as to my mental health. I cleaned the whole house and had company over that night. It did not help pain yet, in fact pain is worse, but I am only on 100mg 2 times a day. I would like to increase it. What is the starting dose, how should I take it and when can I increase it?

They say that pregabalin (Lyrica) is a more potent version of gabapentin (neurontin). It is certainly more expensive. But have you noticed that some amount of lyrica equals to a greater amount of gabapentin (neurontin) by effect produced on the body and mind?

From ssri's and buspirone to benzos or gabapentin. What is your best anti-anxiety med? (considering price, side effects, withdrawal, cognitive impairment etc.) (p.s. maybe someone uses a drug that is not considered as an anti-anxiety med, but it helps. I, for example, find benadryl even better than benzos, but that is only my opinion.)

I have been on 20mg I.R. Generic methylphenidate three time a day for the last 2 years. The ritalin works excellent for my ADHD and my seasonal depression. The Ritalin I took first (The SR 20) made me very anxious coming on and off of it. So i switched to the IR and it helped a good bit. Have you ever taken any of these medications for Neuropathic pain? I have been on Gabapentin but had swelling in the legs, Foggy feeling all the time and gained 40 pounds!
