Does anyone know if Gefitinib or ZD1839 is effective for treating skin cancer? My father was recently diagnose with undifferentiated perineural squamous cell carcinoma - it is a rare form of the more common squamous cell carcinoma and given a short time to live. We are trying ever possible angle. Any info on this drug or any cancer drug and centers who specialize in this form of cancer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi respected sir and mdm, thank you so much for helping me previous. My mum has being consuming this medicine for around the 10 to 12th day. She is starting to receive the side-effect such as rashes and diaharrea. But there is one thing i wish to clarify is that my mum starts to keep losing her appetite and she is getting thinner and thinner. Could be the lost of appetite. One of my very close relatives was diagnosed to have kidney cancer on September last year. She underwent a surgery, which reportedly went very well. However, she went back to re-check this summer and was detected that the cancer has spreaded over both of her lungs. Since this September, she has been taking a medication named Gefitinib, which is supposed to be the only effective drug against lung cancer as of today. My friend's father is in pretty bad situation. He has been tortured by lung tumor. Now the tumor also attacks his gullet. Eating is such a difficulty. Moreover, this is NOT the only problem at this moment, but also the payment for the medecine. I wish people with professional knowledge can help.
