Voting Question: Side Effects of Oxcarbazephine?
(Fri, 16 Oct 2009 13:15:50 GMT)
I wonder if anybody that is taking oxcarbazepine feels the side effects of drowsiness, lost, feeling like vomiting and constipation. I know that these effects are the side effects but the thing is that I have been taking this medication for more than 6 months. I am a brain tumor survivor, just did my MRI 2 months ago and of course came out all clean and my next one will be one year from now. All I am feeling like somehow matches with the side effect of the medication, but the question is: "Can

(Sun, 31 May 2009 03:02:11 GMT)
First of all, I must say that although I have seen a lot psychiatrists, nobody could precisely tell me what my problem is. Well, my problem goes like this. I am a person with depression and anxiety taking these medicines regularly a) Lamotrigine b) Oxcarbazepine c) Clonazepam d) Amisulpride and e) Bupropion. Normally, I remain just OK on these meds, but the problem starts once I come across anticipatory anxiety, stress or lack of sleep. Under these precipitating factors, I suffer some k

Voting Question: Heart pains/ seizures/ what the heck?
(Thu, 02 Apr 2009 23:52:33 GMT)
Okay... Since I was about twelve, I've complained to my mom about sharp, completely spastic heart pains. These are random. I had gone to a cardiologist before just about any doctors and they found absolutely nothing wrong with my heart. I had my thyroid tested and everything, okay? I'd had about every thing possible run at that point. I'd thought that. I'm almost sixteen now, everyone. Around October, I started having what the doctors thought were anxiety or panic attacks. A week ago from Mo

Resolved Question: Why do I get these sudden involuntary jerks just before I fall asleep?
(Thu, 20 Nov 2008 12:20:12 GMT)
Sometimes, its just a subtle "twang" inside my head. At times, my leg or upper body jerks. On a few occasions, my head jerked from side to side with a violence. Thrice, my entire body was thrown up ! All this happens only when I'm on the verge of falling asleep.Never when I'm wide awake. My neurologist says that its NOT a seizure. I am already taking Oxcarbazepine for the past one year. Then what's happening ? Thanks to both of you for responding to my query. I feel somewhat reassured

Resolved Question: Explain this:Interaction between detrol (tolterodine) and Trileptal (oxcarbazepine)?
(Sun, 20 May 2007 00:14:28 GMT)
What does this mean in laymans terms: tolterodine and oxcarbazepine (Moderate Drug-Drug) MONITOR: Based on in vitro data, coadministration with oxcarbazepine may decrease the plasma concentrations of drugs that are substrates of the CYP450 3A4 and 3A5 isoenzymes. The mechanism is accelerated clearance due to induction of CYP450 3A activities by oxcarbazepine. In one study, a single dose of oxcarbazepine (600 mg) had no effect on the pharmacokinetics of felodipine, a CYP450 3A4 substrate, whi
