Resolved Question: Can she take Sudafed, Delsym, or Albuterol?
(Fri, 06 Nov 2009 19:04:48 GMT)
My mother is having a hard time breathing and for some reason she doesn't want to call a pharmacist. Anyway, she takes all these medications: Seroquel 300 XR Levothroid 100mcg Ultram 50 mg 4/day Relephen (generic Nubitone) 750mg 2/day Zocor 20mg She was wondering if she could take any of the three medications to help with breathing in the question with what she already takes. I don't know why she won't just call the pharmacist. Thanks for help, as always.

Resolved Question: what is the difference between pre diabetes and borderline?
(Sun, 18 Oct 2009 01:57:39 GMT)
I was told 2 months ago I was pre diabetic as I had a non-fasting glucose test of only 57,then a fasting of 104. Since then I had another fasting level done, last week, it came back 121...that is 17 points higher than 2 months ago. My Doctor was suppose to call me last week, never did. I called 2 more times about getting testing supplies and has not called. This is at a clinic. I was tracking my BS levels for 2 months, they have increased in both morning fasting levels, 116-167, and,in 2 hour pos

Resolved Question: I've had high blood pressure ranging from 136/89 to 150/95 for the last 6 months; do I need medicine?
(Wed, 30 Sep 2009 16:50:20 GMT)
My doctor hasn't mentioned anything yet - he just tells me to keep up my 2.5 mile walking every morning 5x per week. I've been taking 20 mg of zocor (simvastatin) every night for 8+ years and it's brought my cholesterol down from the 251 to 265 range down to the 171 to 180 range (so it's been very successful). I'm hoping I don't have to take any other pills.

Resolved Question: Can Zocor have a negative effect on sciatica?
(Wed, 19 Aug 2009 16:55:36 GMT)
My doctor recently put me on 20mg of Zocor's generic Simvasiwhatever for my cholesterol (LDL 185 HDL 33) and I've been reading some people say that if you have certain pre-existing problems that it can make them worse, specifically with muscles. I'm by no means medically trained, but I've been dealing with sciatica for about 4 years now (I'm 24) and I'm worried that it could possibly have an effect. Not necessarily on the disk itself, but the muscles that support it. I've been told for yea

Resolved Question: My mother is taking Pravastatin. She has muscle pain. Doctors do not take as drug related. Best treatment.?
(Fri, 07 Aug 2009 15:43:14 GMT)
Zocor and Lipitor, which are taken to lower cholesterol, can produce symptoms that mimic the flu. Doctors can easily miss the connection, but muscle aches may signal tissue breakdown. That can lead to serious kidney damage. Bottom Line Yearbook 2002 by Bottom Line Personnel, page 13 As it turns out, at least 81 more deaths were connected to Baycol's sisters -- Mevacor, Pravachol , Zocor, Lescol, and Lipitor. Resolved Question: High blood sugar reading, on metmorfin-- is this normal?
(Mon, 27 Jul 2009 04:11:04 GMT)
My mom started metmorfin the other day. Her sugar is usually around 130-140 ish when she eats normally, and the doc gave her the metmorfin to bring it down a little. When she eats very small amounts, she can get it at 120, so she wasn't sure if she wanted to take it or not but in the end she decided to do what the doc said and take the metmorfin. She also got a prescription for zocor for cholesterol and synthroid for thyroid. So she ate normally (double the tiny portions she was restrictin

Resolved Question: Does she need the metmorphin?
(Mon, 20 Jul 2009 02:23:31 GMT)
Okay so I have learned that metmorphin has to be taken regularly instead of as needed (thanks to who answered that) -- my mom has been prescribed zocor (to lower cholesterol), synthroid (thyroid), and metmorphin (manage sugar levels). She is worried that taking all these medications will mess with her kidneys and stuff. (Her kidneys are fine, she just doesn't want to overwork them). Her average sugar level is around 120. She's 48 and around 120 pounds as well. Is that a bad enough sugar l

Resolved Question: Can you take Metmorphin (Glucophage) as needed?
(Mon, 20 Jul 2009 01:46:50 GMT)
My mom went to the doc recently, and they gave her 3 different medications- synthroid for hyperthyroidism, metmorphin for high blood sugar, and zocor for cholestorol.. She checks her sugar every day though and usually is able to control it with the food she eats and things like that, naturally. She doesn't want to take the metmorphin (which was prescribed to help lower her sugar levels) if she can handle herself naturally. She took it the first day and ate double portions, and it did what it

Resolved Question: Do blood pressure and cholesterol medicine make you feel dizzy, nauseated, achy and sick all the time?
(Tue, 21 Apr 2009 01:50:50 GMT)
My PCP Dr is a real Drama Queen. My BP is 126/78 and cholesterol 208. He insisted that I go on medicine for both. He put me on 20 mgs of Lisinopril for the BP and 10 mgs of Zocor for cholesterol. I've been taking this garbage for 2 months now and I have never felt so god-awful in my entire life. When I stand up I almost faint I'm so dizzy (I'm scared to drive anymore for fear I'll pass out behind the wheel.) My muscles ache all the time, I'm nauseated and feel like I have the flu 24/7. Voting Question: Cholesterol lowering medication, which one is best?
(Thu, 02 Apr 2009 14:28:35 GMT)
What is the best cholesterol lowering medicine? I had a heart attack two years ago with triple bypass surgery at University of Virginia Hospital. I prescribed Vytorin by UVA. My total cholesterol was staying below 200. My family doctor switched me to Zocor about two months ago and my level went to 203, he then added Zetia three days ago. Resolved Question: Do you blindly trust your doctor?
(Tue, 24 Mar 2009 03:14:12 GMT)
I offered my doctor a 20 page report(by a renowned biochemist) about the devastating side effects of statins (Lipitor, Zocor, Crestor etc.) and he said "I don't have time to read it." My respect for him dropped to near zero. Do you research the medication your doctor prescribes for you, or just take it without question? High cholesterol is not a disease. This is one of many reports that debunks the cholesterol myth: www.ebay.com.au/non-fictionbooks
