Open Question: Why Do I Have Uncontrollable Vivid Thoughts?
(Sun, 22 Nov 2009 05:43:18 GMT)
Almost every day I have a moment where I must pause and go through a very vivid/lucid daydream of sorts that is always the same. Sometimes it is triggered by certain things like smoking a cigarette, wearing rubber gloves, or burning willow branches. Other times I can be doing nothing and it just comes to me, it's visual but more so in my mind than through my eyes. It is quite disturbing and sometimes it forces me to question reality; as in was that real or a fake memory? I really dislike t

(Sat, 21 Nov 2009 19:32:01 GMT)
I've had bad anxiety for a long time now. Recently I was just admitted in a hospital program where you can do your schoolwork, and be monitored at the same time. I was very anxious to go there because i keep having recurrent sexual thoughts, and it makes me feel very uncomfortable. My parents, my psychiatrist and my parents know that I have bad thoughts, and that why they sent me to the hospital. Im currently on 80mg prozac and .5mg clonazepam, and my phycyatrist thinks that I should switch to

Open Question: When I take zoloft it doesnt make me feel good?
(Fri, 20 Nov 2009 00:24:45 GMT)
So many people use this recreationally for its good effects, but I dont seem to feel good? It makes me less anxious and stuff, but I dont feel "good". Is this because I actually have anxiety? BTW, im not using this recreationally, im precribed 50mg of it, and have only been taking it for 3 days now. Why isnt it making me feel good like others say it does?

(Thu, 19 Nov 2009 23:57:56 GMT)
Ok, I'm 21 and Im about to meet with recruiters from different branches about enlisting. 6 years ago (when I was 15) I went through an angsty phase so my parents put me on zoloft...which, made me very depressed. I cut myself and to be treated for the cuts I was hospitalized overnight. At the end of the year I was taken off zoloft when the studies were released about suicide and anti-depressants in teens. I was 100% fine after that with NO depression for 6 years. BUT, I have obvious scars. Will

Hey, i have PMDD, and my doctor prescribed me a VERY VERY low dose of Zoloft. 25 mg i think. Anyways, i have worked very hard to loose weight, and i work every day at eating right, counting my calories, and exercising every day, unless i am sick then i rest. Anyways, my doctor said if i continue to do what i am doing, i should be fine as far as weight gain. And in my "side effects" list, there is no mention whatsoever of weight gain, but in fact, weight loss. However my doctor did say, it can

Open Question: Question about zoloft for social anxiety and depression?

So I got prescribed 50mg of zoloft for social anxiety, and depression. This morning I took one for the first time, and what happened was kind of wierd. The problem though, was I had some side effects. I kept getting a "built up" feeling inside where I just wanted to get up and run, and occasionally my jaw/teeth would shiver like it was cold. I also got dry mouth, hair loose,my hands were shaky,I got a few hot flashes followed with nervousness, and I was more sweaty. Is this all normal? The hot

Open Question: Are these normal zoloft side effects?
(Wed, 18 Nov 2009 20:36:23 GMT)
I starting taking zoloft today. I am prescribed 50mg for social anxiety disorder. Ive read about the side effects, such as dry mouth and shakiness, which occured with me. Some other things I noticed though, my jaw started shivering occasionaly, and in one of my classes, it actually made my anxiety worse, but I still felt as if I could have talked to people. So I had that fearful feeling, but I wasnt afraid to go talk to others. This only happened in one class, and then it was over. In most of

Open Question: can starting a new medication delay your period?
(Wed, 18 Nov 2009 19:47:52 GMT)
I recently started taking Zoloft, and my period is a couple days late... i figured it was probably due to the medication changing my body chemistry a little... It usually comes on the 15th of every month.. its weird how predictable my schedule has been the last few months... Anyhow, I feel extremely bloated and fat today.. and that usually happens right before my period. Do you think the Zoloft could be pushing it back a couple days? thanks!

Open Question: Zoloft tolerance after 5 months?
(Wed, 18 Nov 2009 18:41:02 GMT)
I have been on 50 mg daily of sertraline for 5 months. It was really working well and I was satisfied because it was a low dose. Now it seems like it is not working as well but doesn't it take longer than 5 months to usually build a tolerance? I don't want to increase my dose because then the same thing will probably happen again. I also have decreased sexual drive with the medicine which sucks... another reason I don't want to increase the dosage. Anyone else experience tolerance this soon? I

I began to take zoloft 25 mg on friday, but stopped on sunday due to the terrible side effects, I would wake up at night with terrible night sweats, my anxiety has increased doublefold and now I get a lot of suicidal thoughts. I still feel numb, I can't even cry or laugh and when I try to pinch myself I don't feel much pain, it's as if I never pinched myself at all. I also get derealization which increases my anxiety. I can't sleep more than 4 hours a night since taking this drug and feel r

Voting Question: Reward system seems to stop working?
(Wed, 18 Nov 2009 08:07:12 GMT)
I'm curious if anyone has any exotic ideas why this might be happening, or any drug suggestions. After a brief period of remission, it seems as if I have suddenly lost interest in everything. I am still capable of functioning at a high level (I'm a university student), but everything seems to be a chore. I wake up, do homework, go to lectures (although I seem more inclined to skip them now), eat, and sleep. I'm currently on 80 mg Prozac, 100 mg modafinil (Alertec, Provigil, depending on count

Well, I'm on Zoloft and Wellbutrin. Have been for well over a year. My medical insurance stopped. I'm hopefully going to get it back in like a month and a half at the latest. However, I'm almost out of both of my anti-depressants. I stopped taking them for the last 3 days or so, but I had to take them today since I'm all shaky and generally not feeling well. Okay, so, recently, I've been having fainting spells. The first one was so random; I was just standing in my room, and all the sudden BAM. I woke up on the floor like, 'wait, what happened?'. I didn't feel bad at all. Then, today, during my first period history class, I had a splitting headache, felt like i was going to throw up, my heart started racing and i grew very dizzy. I knew i was going to faint, so luckily i got out of the room and into the nurses office in time. I'm not exactly sur

I'm 19 and have clinical depression, I've had it for a few months. I've been on cymbalta and now I'm on zoloft, I've also been on various sleeping pills which nothing has worked. What would my doctor say if I told him I don't want to live anymore and I can't handle it, and that I've thought about suicide a lot. But at the moment I don't really have a plan as yet, I only have an idea of how to do it but not when. What would he do or say?

Voting Question: Zoloft withdrawal...?
(Tue, 17 Nov 2009 20:18:01 GMT)
I was on fluoxetine for over a year, then I requested a change and was put on zoloft. I did't take it every day because my depression was fading, and I was having awful side effects. Now the doc has taken me off it completely without any tapering off, claiming "it wouldn't have been working anyway if I was only taking it every other day." I am furious all the time. Tiny things irritate me. I feel sick and dizzy constantly, and lightheaded. I am NOT myself. If anything, I feel more depressed a
