Resolved Question: Help with daily headaches please.?
(Thu, 29 Oct 2009 02:12:03 GMT)
It seems that on a regular basis I suffer from some sort of head pain. I have been recently medically discharged by the military because these head pains stopped me from pulling my weight. In the summer of 2008 when I was based in little rock ar, they were at their worst. It was definitely cluster headaches. I've been to 2 neurologists, I've had 4 mri's, ekg's, eeg's and I've been on every possible medication otc and zomig, maxalt etc. I've been to the dentist and the eye doctor and everything

Resolved Question: Cluster Migranes - has anyone tried accupuncture?
(Mon, 12 Oct 2009 00:10:57 GMT)
My son in his late 20's spasmodically gets periods where he will have half a dozen or so really vicious Cluster Migraine's in a week. Various medications have been tried by his Doctor including Zomig wafers and Immiject {Sprung loaded syringe with one time medication capsule unit. Zomig works, but takes quite a while and after his first try with Immiject (where he accidentally injected straight into the thigh muscle and the injection hurt more than the migraine} he wont use them again. One o

Resolved Question: Need help from expert on chronic headaches?
(Sat, 26 Sep 2009 14:11:37 GMT)
I know this is LONG, but if you know anything about headaches (professionally), espcially MD/experts/specialists PLEASE read. For the past 10 years, I have been battling progressively worsening migraines/tension headaches. (I can pretty much take care of the tensions with TENS unit, heat and regular massages) but the migraines occur 3-5+ times per week and are debilitating. I have been on 78 different medications- preventatives, abortives, narcotics, psychiatric meds as well pure oxygen), pre

Resolved Question: Trying to find a successful treatment for my migraines and doc has prescribed me a few different meds...?
(Tue, 11 Aug 2009 20:39:45 GMT)
I can't take the typical imitrix, zomig, etc as I have high blood pressure and they make me feel as though I am having a heart attack. I have been using just a pain reliever (vicodin), but not much luck. My doc just gave me a prescription for ultram and fioricet; neither of which I have taken yet, can anyone give me an insight into these meds and what I might expect. Are they addictive? The prescriptions he gave me are for rather large amounts (quantity) so I wouldn't think so. Another th

Resolved Question: Zomig ZMT 2.5 mg dissolvable tablets - How much is the limit within a 30-day period?
(Tue, 16 Jun 2009 15:41:08 GMT)
I was prescribed Zomig ZMT 2.5 mg (Zolmitriptan) by my Neurologist (along with other medications) to see if maybe they can relieve my migraines. The other two prescriptions she gave me are useless. The one does nothing. And the other is actually an anti-depressant that should help me stay asleep and wake without a headache, but just makes me tired the entire next day. This seems to be the only medicine that somewhat helps. It takes a while, but it helps. But this is what the website says ab

Resolved Question: LONG list of symptoms- Have any suggestions I can tell my doctors to look into?
(Mon, 15 Jun 2009 20:43:16 GMT)
I've been to doctor after doctor after specialist after specialist and after several years and thousands of dollars, they still have not come up with anything. So I'm asking here. Not to get an accurate diagnosis, but just asking people suggestions that I may bring up to my doctors so that they know where to stem off a research into. Currently I see a regular doctor (everything else), Neurologist (migraines), Dermatologist (suspicious mole removal) and a Physical Therapist (cervicalgia). I

Resolved Question: Terrible Migraines....Any Help?!?
(Thu, 04 Jun 2009 23:57:40 GMT)
I've been getting migraines since I moved to my new AF base and the base location has a high altitude so I figured my migraines were because of this fact but I've been here two years. The doctor gave me Zomig to prevent the migraines but that worked for only so long and now it's not really not helping even prevent them! These migraines are horrible, I vomit with them, my head throbs, my body feels like it's shaky and during really bad migraines I can barely talk. These really prevents me from

Resolved Question: Does Zomig affect my birth control pills?
(Sat, 25 Apr 2009 04:09:38 GMT)
I have migraines about every 2 weeks and I'm always scared to mix my medication since I'm also on the daily birth control pill. Are the chances of the pill less effective then because of Zomig? I tried to do research on it but all I could find was "Additional monitoring of your dose or condition may be needed if you are taking oral contraceptives (birth control pills), cimetidine, or other migraine medicines. " on drugs.com. Otherelse than the birth control and Zomig, there are no other dru

(Tue, 07 Apr 2009 17:44:06 GMT)
i've recently been put on a migraine medication, and i'm supposed to take it suring the aura or the pain phase. I am unfamiliar with migraine medication and wondering if the medication will help with all the other phases of the migraine, or just the pain phase? The pain of the migraine I can handle for the most part, it's the postdome or whatever the last phase is that really bothers me... it takes me days to recover from a migraine, and wondering if the Zomig would help with that?

Resolved Question: MIGRAINES: I taken Zomig 5mg. and it works. Is there anything naturally that will work?
(Fri, 13 Mar 2009 13:08:19 GMT)
Zomig 5mg takes about 1hr to work. Tried Frova too, took alot longer. Doctor doesnot give too many on rx, so I have to really be in alot of pain to take what he gives me. I have asked him to give me more so I won't suffer as long, but still he write it for 12 pills. I get about 2 headaches a month. Dr says it is hormonal. I would like to try the natural approach and see if I can either reduce or prevent these headaches. Has anyone tried something that really does work? Motrin and OTC does not

Resolved Question: Medical Marijuana For Migraines?
(Fri, 06 Mar 2009 01:46:32 GMT)
I'm 16 and I live in Oregon which is one of the states that accept Medical Marijuana use and I have a history of severe migraines going back as far as I could talk. Since then doctors have done sleep studies, food studies, blood tests, cat scans, spinal/neck x-rays, herbal/natural cures and low dose painkillers (ZOMIG) which haven't worked a bit, even after the dosage was doubled. So I was wondering if Medical Marijuana could help with this and if/when I could get it. Would i have to be 18? I

I get migraines quite frequently, suffering with one now. I have tried a heating pad on my head, cold compresses, and now strong coffee and lots of aspirin. I am afraid to take my Zomig due to the possible side effects.(that stuff is scary) and I got this migraine at work so I didn't get to take my Midrin early enough to cut it off at the pass. Resolved Question: Severe Migraine in my head?
(Thu, 22 Jan 2009 15:44:02 GMT)
I get a searing throbbing yet racing pain on the top left side of my head, in which the pain travels from the front of my head to the back, if I have an erection. The more intense the erection, the more severe the pain. I have been prescribed Zomig and Bedranol right now, however I was wondering if anyone else has ever had a similar situation. Sadly, this may sound funny, but I assure you that the headaches are anything but funny. It started off, when the headache was short-lived, but now,

Resolved Question: How to cure an excruciating head ache?
(Mon, 19 Jan 2009 03:34:30 GMT)
I have had a major migraine like every single day for the past 2 1/2 weeks. I can barely function as it makes me vomit and impacts my vision. So far I've tried Immetrex, Zomig, motrin, tylenol, reglin, hot showers, ice packs, rest, and caffeine during the day. Any other suggestions? It's always in a different location and I've had 2 MRI's so it's not like cancer or an aneurism . Other advice? and I don't want to hear "Go to the dr." I have an appointment for morning @11. thanks

It's been 4 month now that I've been getting this type of pain... just 4 days before getting my period. My doctor diagnosed me w/ having migraine. My Dr prescribed Zomig but didn't help. Then she put me on Amytriptyline and that did not help either - horrible side effects... had to stop taking it after 3 days. Resolved Question: Is amitriptyline a triptan?
(Thu, 18 Dec 2008 01:11:53 GMT)
I've recently been prescribed amitriptyline for my migraines. My doctor has also prescribed me Zomig Rapimelt, to take when a migraine strikes. The pamphlet in the Zomig box mentions not taking Zomig if one has taken a triptan in the past 24hours. I am wondering if I am safe to take my Zomig since I last took my amitriptyline not even 24 hours ago. I'd just rather be safe than sorry. And since both drugs are relatively new to me, the more information I can gather about them, the better.

Resolved Question: A migraine that will not go away??!?
(Sat, 13 Dec 2008 20:08:46 GMT)
I get migraines from time to time. Usually I can take either ONE Zomig or ONE Fioricet and lay down and they will pass pretty quickly. As of now, Saturday afternoon, I have had a migraine since Wednesday afternoon and taken multiple of both of my migraine meds and nothing is helping. The headache is accompanied by nausea, dizziness, pain/pressure sensation behind the eyes and ears, and of course sensitivity to light and sound. I had to call in from work because of it yesterday. I am not sure w

Resolved Question: How do I get rid of my Zomig neck pain?
(Mon, 27 Oct 2008 21:05:20 GMT)
I'm caught in a viscious circle. I take a lot of Zomig (10mg/day everyday). It used to be for migraines, but now I take it to get rid of the severe neck pain -- which I got from taking too much Zomig. I can't just stop taking the Zomig because the neck pain is horrible (worse than a migraine) and it makes me suicidal. I also take Tramacet but it only takes the edge off. Tramacet and Zomig together work great, but 12 hours later I have to take another dose of both again. What can I do?

Resolved Question: question about migraine medicines during pregnancy?
(Tue, 21 Oct 2008 03:41:35 GMT)
Has anyone ever used or known anyone who has used migraine medications of the drug class called triptans, like imitrex, maxalt, zomig, or relpax, during pregnancy? I have severe trouble with migraines and have taken maxalt for about the last ten years. Resolved Question: If you get migraines, what triggers them, and what helps relieve them?
(Sat, 27 Sep 2008 16:00:25 GMT)
Please don't answer if you consider a migraine to be a "very bad headache" - because it's not. Those who get TRUE migraines, I am curious to see what causes them for you. Mine is my period (drop in estrogen). I get one every month. The only thing that helps me is Zomig, if taken early enough. If its already in full swing - then nothing helps, I just have to ride it out. How about you?

Resolved Question: What is a good medicine for Migraines?
(Wed, 03 Sep 2008 19:50:50 GMT)
That works and is inexpensive? I'm currently taking Zomig (5mg) but it's only when I have a migraine coming on, it is not a pill I take everyday, because I only get migraines about once a week. I can no longer afford the Zomig. I switched insurance and now my co-pay is $124 for 6 pills! I was paying $10 before. I need something that is cheap but works good. Please do not suggest Excedrin, Aspirin or Tyolenol. I can eat a whole bottle of those and they don't even take the edge off. For now I'
