Oxygen Cardiac Failure Congestive Side Effect Reports

The following Oxygen Cardiac Failure Congestive side effect reports were submitted by healthcare professionals and consumers.

This information will help you understand how side effects, such as Cardiac Failure Congestive, can occur, and what you can do about them.

A side effect could appear soon after you start Oxygen or it might take time to develop.

Oedema Peripheral, Orthopnoea, Cardiac Arrest, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Cardiac Failure Congestive

This Cardiac Failure Congestive side effect was reported by a physician from AUSTRALIA. A female patient (weight:NA) experienced the following symptoms/conditions: NA. The patient was prescribed Oxygen (dosage: 3 L), which was started on Jun 15, 2011. Concurrently used drugs:
  • Pradaxa
  • Pradaxa
  • Proton Pump Inhibitor
When starting to take Oxygen the consumer reported the following symptoms:
  • Oedema Peripheral
  • Orthopnoea
  • Cardiac Arrest
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
  • Cardiac Failure Congestive
These side effects may potentially be related to Oxygen.
Cardiac Failure Congestive, Gait Disturbance, Renal Failure, Diabetes Mellitus

This Cardiac Failure Congestive Oxygen side effect was reported by a consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Apr 06, 2012. A Female , weighting 349.9 lb, was treated with Oxygen. The patient presented the following health conditions:
  • Cardiac Failure Congestive
  • Gait Disturbance
  • Renal Failure
  • Diabetes Mellitus
. Oxygen dosage: 6 L, Other. Additional drugs used at the same time:
  • Adcirca (20 Mg, Bid)
  • Levothyroxine Sodium (200 Ug, Qd)
Device Failure, Cardiac Failure Congestive, Respiratory Distress

This is a Oxygen (oxygen) side effect report of a 62-year-old female patient (weight:NA) from UNITED STATES, suffering from the following symptoms/conditions: NA, who was treated with Oxygen (oxygen) (dosage:NA, start time: Apr 14, 2011), combined with:
  • Tyvaso (192 Mcg (48 Mcg, 4 In 1 D), Inhalation)
  • Revatio
, and developed a serious reaction and a Cardiac Failure Congestive side effect. The patient presented with:
  • Device Failure
  • Cardiac Failure Congestive
  • Respiratory Distress
which developed after the beginning of treatment. The patient was hospitalized. This side effect report can indicate a possible existence of increased vulnerability to Oxygen (oxygen) treatment in female patients suffering from NA, resulting in Cardiac Failure Congestive.

Cardiac Failure Congestive, Device Breakage, Respiratory Distress

A 62-year-old female patient (weight: NA) from UNITED STATES with the following symptoms: NA started Oxygen (oxygen) treatment (dosage: NA) on Apr 14, 2011. Soon after starting Oxygen (oxygen) treatment, the consumer experienced several side effects, including:
  • Cardiac Failure Congestive
  • Device Breakage
  • Respiratory Distress
. Concurrently used drugs:
  • Tyvaso (192 Mcg (48 Mcg, 4 In 1 D), Inhalation)
  • Revatio
The patient was hospitalized. This finding indicates that some patients can be more vulnerable to developing Oxygen (oxygen) side effects, such as Cardiac Failure Congestive.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Cardiac Failure Congestive, Hypoxia

A patient from UNITED STATES was prescribed and started Oxygen on Nov 02, 2011. Patient felt the following Oxygen side effects: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cardiac failure congestive, hypoxia Additional patient health information: male , weighting 252.0 lb, The consumer reported the following symptoms: . Oxygen Cardiac Failure Congestive Causes and Reviews

Heart failure is a condition in which the heart can't pump enough blood to meet the body's needs. Heart failure does not mean that your heart has stopped or is about to stop working. It means that your heart is not able to pump blood the way it should. It can affect one or both sides of the heart.

The weakening of the heart's pumping ability causes

  • Blood and fluid to back up into the lungs
  • The buildup of fluid in the feet, ankles and legs - called edema
  • Tiredness and shortness of breath

Common causes of heart failure are coronary artery disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. It is more common in people who are 65 years old or older, African Americans, people who are overweight, and people who have had a heart attack. Men have a higher rate of heart failure than women.

Your doctor will diagnose heart failure by doing a physical exam and heart tests. Treatment includes treating the underlying cause of your heart failure, medicines, and heart transplantation if other treatments fail.

I am using home Oxygen levels between 1 and 2. I am having bad headaches, stomach pains, and leg pains. When I am not using the Oxygen I dont have the horrible headaches. Once I use the oxgyen again i have the headaches. I feel as if I dont need the Oxygen. Everytime I go to the doctor for check ups my levels are low between 78 and 84. Is there any that I should do or tell my doctor.

I have a friend that has currently been treated with steriods and is on Oxygen 24/7 and her gums appear sunburn and are peeling is this a side affect of the O2?

Sun, 13 May 2012

My husband has been on Oxygen for the last 21 months, and soon after, began getting a raspy voice, and it seemed hard for him to talk and breath. He only uses it at night. Recently he had to be hospitalized, and while there his normal sounding voice came back ( he was on Oxygen there as well 24/7). After being home for 5 days, he lost his voice, and it is slowly coming back a little bit. The Dr.s' have no clue, even though they both know he is still on the Oxygen. My husband has been told that he really doesn't need the Oxygen anymore, but he chooses to remain on it at night. He has recently been using a bottle filled with water that is hooked inline on the concentrator.

While using Oxygen (24/7) during the past six weeks I have become hoarse. I've now ceased the Oxygen therapy but my hoarseness persists. Is this normal or how long should I expect it to continue?
