Pradaxa Renal Failure Causes and Reviews

Healthy kidneys clean your blood by removing excess fluid, minerals, and wastes. They also make hormones that keep your bones strong and your blood healthy. But if the kidneys are damaged, they don't work properly. Harmful wastes can build up in your body. Your blood pressure may rise. Your body may retain excess fluid and not make enough red blood cells. This is called kidney failure.

If your kidneys fail, you need treatment to replace the work they normally do. The treatment options are dialysis or a kidney transplant. Each treatment has benefits and drawbacks. No matter which treatment you choose, you'll need to make some changes in your life, including how you eat and plan your activities. But with the help of health care providers, family, and friends, most people with kidney failure can lead full and active lives.

Pradaxa Renal Failure Reviews

Sat, 16 Apr 2011
My 90 yr old Dad took Pradaxa for two days and was hospitalize with bleeding in upper GI, dizzyness, confusion, and sugars of over 400. A week later back to the ER, with 400+ sugar, confusion, slurred speach, weekness, vomitting and naseua. Now today he's in Renal Failure all because of Pradaxa.

My mom almost died taking Pradaxa...she lost 75% of her blood due to internal bleeding. Her hemoglobin was a 4 upon entering the hospital. No visible signs of bleeding except being tired and difficulty with mobility. She had to have 9 blood transfusions just to bring her back to a hemoglobin level of 9. If this drug could be monitored the way wafarin is, she wouldn't have had this problem. PLEASE know that if you are on this drug, don't take your symptoms of 'tiredness' or 'unsteady' on your feet lightly. Pay attention to your body and what it's telling you. Don't feel silly for going to the doctor and asking to be seen. My 2nd cousin (in his 70s) was just admitted to the hospital last week for the same reason...except he had Renal Failure on this drug and required 4 blood transfusions. They now want to do a bone density test on his spine and I was looking on this site to see if dbigitran and bone density issues are related....does anyone know?
