This case suggests a potential Precedex Bradycardia side effect(s) that can have serious consequences. A 44-year-old female patient from CA (weight:NA) was diagnosed with the following health condition(s): obstructive sleep apnea syndrome and used Precedex (dosage: 60 Mcg, Continuous, Intravenous) starting Feb 09, 2012. Soon after starting Precedex the patient began experiencing various side effects, including:
  • Cardiac Arrest
  • Bradycardia
  • Procedural Complication
Drugs used concurrently:
  • Fentanyl Citrate
  • Remifentanil
  • Nexium
  • Although Precedex demonstrated significant improvements in a number of clinically relevant cases, troublesome symptoms, such as Bradycardia, may still occur.

The following health products were being taken at the same time: NA. When commencing Precedex, the patient experienced the following unwanted symptoms /side effects:
    • Hypotension

  • Carvedilol
  • Candesartan Cilexetil
  • Temocapril Hydrochloride
  • Nifedipine
  • Imidapril Hydrochloride
  • Furosemide
  • Allopurinol
  • Fentanyl
  • Soon after that, the subject experienced the following of symptoms:
    • Hypoalbuminaemia
    • Prothrombin Time Prolonged
    This opens a possibility that Precedex could cause Prothrombin Time Prolonged and that some subjects may be more susceptible.

    on Dec 08, 2008 a male from JAPAN , 71 years of age, weighting 165.3 lb, was diagnosed with and was treated with Precedex. Directly after treatment started, patient experienced the unwanted or unexpected Precedex side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, aspartate aminotransferase increased, blood albumin decreased, prothrombin time prolonged. Precedex dosage: .3 Mcg/kg/hr, Intravenous.

    • Propofol
    • Fentanyl-100
    • Vecuronium Bromide
    • Sevoflurane
    • (ephedrine Hydrochloride)
    • Dopamine Hydrochloride
    • (flurbiprofen Axetil)
