I'm having my third Reclast treatment, and ever since to first one, I have experienced severe hip pain and lower back pain. I also have muscle spasms daily and suffer and some bone pain in my ankles and tibia. I have discussed these side effects with my doctor and because my d-scan hadn't changed in the three years, she wants me to continuue the treatment. I'm torn about getting another infusion . I have discussed these issues with her and she shrugs her shoulders and tells me I need it. What do you think? |

I had a Reclast infusion, June 29, 2009. That night, (about 8 hours afterwards) I woke up feeling severe aching in ALL my joints, and nauseous. I got up from bed, and didn't make it to the bathroom - I projectile vomited/had diarreah at the same time... and from there it was totally downhill ... Did not stop vomiting and having acute diarreah forthe next four days. Could not keep in even a sip of water... on the 3rd day my husband took me to the local ER. They gave me an IV, some Zofram, and sent me home on oral zofram. within 3 hours of going home, I was back in the ER, completely dehydrated yet again. The did the same thing, sent me home yet again... Mind you, I have lupus, take steroids for it for over 15 years, so am now adrenal insufficient. Also have seizures from CNS lupus, take meds for that, too... was unable to take ANY of my meds for 4 days... by the time my DH contacted the doctor on call for my doctor, I was totally out of it... He had my husband take me to the larger, teaching hospital in the area, admitted me for FIVE days... I really had no idea where I was/who I was the first 24 hours there... All I will say is, it was the WORST experience of my life... well maybe the second worst, anyhow... I almost died. The Doctor who sent me to the ER told my husband I more than likely only had another 12-24 hours left, I was THAT sick... and if we had listened to the doctor in the local er (he told my husband to bring me home and just put me back in bed and let me sweat/vomit/poop it out over the next few days!!!!!), I would not be here today. Thank goodness the covering doctor asked my husband the RIGHT questions ! Reclast? NEVER again! (my doctor jokes with me every time I go in now.. asking me if I'm "ready" for my next infusion.... NOT) |

One thing to keep in mind when you see all of these negative posts. Most people who had a pleasant experience or not going to post on the internet. For every negative post, who knows how many positive comments there could be that are not posted. I had my Reclast infusion yesterday. Had some pain and chills last night. Feel a little "blah" today, but hoping for a better day. |

I had my RECLAST on THURSDAY, NOV, 6th at 1:30 in the afternoon. I started out with a slight headache, 8;30 p.m.I had the worst chills I have ever experienced in my life..I am 71 yrs old.My family ended up putting 8 blanketson me. I don't know if it was all the covers on me or my 103+ temperature, I finally started to get warm. I had such a severe headache, amp;amp; my bones felt like someone was breaking them, all over my body. My family put 4 different calls into the dr. only to be told this is normal. I would love to know if any dr. or nurse ever had this injection. I THINK NOT. WE ARE THIER GUINI PIGS. You have heard the saying the cemetaries are full of drs. mistakes. It is Sunday the 9th,amp;amp; I still feel awful. I will pray for all of you that you will get better. I know one thing they better never ask me to get another shot. My bones hurt terrible. |
