Risperdal Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome Causes and Reviews

Psychotic disorders are severe mental disorders that cause abnormal thinking and perceptions. People with psychoses lose touch with reality. Two of the main symptoms are delusions and hallucinations. Delusions are false beliefs, such as thinking that someone is plotting against you or that the TV is sending you secret messages. Hallucinations are false perceptions, such as hearing, seeing, or feeling something that is not there.

Schizophrenia is one type of psychotic disorder. People with bipolar disorder may also have psychotic symptoms. Other problems that can cause psychosis include alcohol and some drugs, brain tumors, brain infections, and stroke.

Treatment depends on the cause of the psychosis. It might involve drugs to control symptoms and talk therapy. Hospitalization is an option for serious cases where a person might be dangerous to himself or others.

Risperdal Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome Reviews

Tue, 05 Jun 2012

My 8 year old daughter has Type 1 diabetes and had ketosis as well after about 13 months on Risperdal, which was prescribed off label for her ADHD.  There is noone on either side of her family that has or had Type 1 Diabetes.

Thu, 06 Jan 2011
Is it ok to take Valerian with Risperadal (I take 1.5 mg a day)?
Wed, 12 May 2010
Went from 96 lbs to 170 lbs in a few short months. Haven't been able to lose any of the weight. I no longer have periods either. Haven't had one since 08. I'm writing this comment in May of 2010. Besides the schizophrenia, it was the worst thing to happen to me. It didn't even keep my paranoia, delusions or voices in check. I wasn't able to go back to a somewhat normal life until I switched drugs.
