I have metallic taste in my mouth a few weeks after I started using Olmetec. Could this be side effects caused by Olmetec??

I have recently had my Olmetec increased to 40mg. My blood sugar levels are up round 9 to 13 throughout the day with levels of 5 to 7 on waking each morning. I have had my Lantus insulin increased to 40units.
this is the only thing changed.
