Barium meal report #SELF-129
Female patient reported the following Barium meal side effect(s):Severe prolonged throbbing headache and neck ache, rapid ectopic heartbeats every few minutes
Woke up following day with headache, took paracetamol. Went out in car, started to suffer from rapid extra heartbeats every few minutes. Headache became a painful throb. Took co-codamol. Heart racing continued. Headache throbbing became more severe so took diclofenac. By end of the day head was absolutely pounding, and neck became stiff and very painful. Unbearable pain, so rang to see dr. Took 2 cocodamol hour before seeing dr which gave no relief. Dr gave injection of diclofenac (stronger dose) . Within 15 minutes pain had subsided. Slept quite well, with excessive thirst. Woke next day with just dull head pain. Occasional ectopic heart beats.
