Factive (gemafloxin) report #SELF-159


Male patient reported the following Factive (gemafloxin) side effect(s):Analphylatic reaction, intestinal tear, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, hypocalcemia, hyperparathyroidism.

Took Factive for 7 days without event. Three days post medication developed full body rash, then went analphylatic. Given Prednisone for 10 days. On 10th day developed intestinal tear. Had surgery to repair tear. Developed hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, hyperparathyroidism, hypocalcemia, and Vitamin D deficiency. Also experienced loss of vision in right eye for 20 minutes with lightning bolts, experienced torn left calf muscle, and developed a vascular rash.
