Boniva report #SELF-1818

Female patient reported the following Boniva side effect(s):Severe joint and muscle pain. Extreme hip joint and back pain and inflammation in wrists, hands, fingers, knees. Lethargy, extreme fatigue, scratchy throat and phlegm cough, overall achy to the point of limping and not being able to work properly and walk properly.

Within a day or two of taking first dose I noticed increased joint pain and swelling of fingers, knees but thought it was just change of seasons, cold air, etc. It became worse quite quickly and went to doctors for thumb pain, hand and wrist pain, etc. Then chest was congested and recommended allergist and no allergies found but phlegmy cough continued and feeling tired, etc. Foot pain began shortly thereafter with inability to walk normal so limping causes more knee and hip pain. pain keeps me up most of the night even with pain relievers and numbing medications. Foot is excruciating and hip is as well. Joints continued to hurt even after acupuncture treatments, hot and cold therapy, lots of Advil and Aleve, etc. Continues to get worse each day and can barely move, very stiff, very slow limping walk. Had previous fibromyalgia which was well controlled and now feels like I\'ve regressed to my worse nightmare.
