Micardis report #SELF-1905
Male patient reported the following Micardis side effect(s):Uvulitis - choking; coughing up blood
Went to the ER and the Doctor on call said that this is a side affect of ACE Inhibitors and she\'s seen these symptoms with the mouth (usually the uvula, but also the tongue and lips)even after patients have taken the medicine for years w/o incident. My primary physician that prescribed it insists that Micardis is a derivative of the angeotensin converting enzyme, but not an ACE inhibitor. Not a chemist, so I don\'t know if this is semantics or not - will investigate further w/ Pri Phys and Pharmacist
