Female patient reported the following Lipitor 10 mgm daily side effect(s):Swelling and pain in joints, especially both knees, fingers, toes, ankles. Tingling and needle-like pain in outer aspect of left knee,difficulty in walking due to pain, stifxfness, swelling. Tendonitis.

Although I already had osteo-arthritis and a history of tendonitis and some type of polymyositis rheumatica of unknown origin, I was presribed lipitor for my high cholesterol. In four or five days my already slightly enlarged joints in my fingers and my knee (with already degenerated cartilage) became permanently more enlarged, painful and less flexible. My physician and I shou ld have listened to the TV warnings about muscle pain and weakness. My lipid control specialist (whom I hadn\'t seen recently) says he would never have presribed lipitor because of my past history.
