Advair report #SELF-196

Male patient reported the following Advair side effect(s):Extremely swollen tongue, itchy whelps, rash on extremities.

Over a period of several days prior to severe episode, I experienced strange swellings on my face. I mentioned them to my doctor, who believed they were related to herpes type 1. I did not agree, as I never had herpes on my chin or cheek. Symptoms spread to strange swellings on my calfs, 1/2\" wide by 3\" long, which itched. This culminated in a night where I experienced itchy whelts all over my torso, plus a rash on my arms and legs. I took an antihystamine and tried to sleep, but awoke with my tongue so swollen I could hardly breathe. I forced a pseudoephedrine past my tongue, which reduced the swelling enough for me to decide against an expensive trip to the emergency room. When my doctor\'s office opened that morning, I was there and received treatment.
