Lipitor report #SELF-208


Female patient reported the following Lipitor side effect(s):Leg and foot cramps, dry mouth and slight brochial spasm.

While laying down watching TV, my toes began cramping in one foot and continued up into my calf, then my other foot began cramping. I tried stretching the muscles and walking with no relief. I stopped the cramps with a 25 mg. dose of potassium gluconate,in tablet form. The cramps stopped in about 15 minutes.

Event date: Monday September 29th 12:00:00 AM
Dosage: 20 mg.
Frequency: Once nightly.
Age: 56
Weight: 160
Other medications: Micardis, 20 mg; Singulair, 10 mg.
Diagnosis: moderately High cholesterol level
Pre-existing conditions: asthma, allergic to animals (horse, cat, dog) dander, hair, saliva; mold, dust. I also experience serious cramping with inhaled and oral steroids, such as Advair and prednisone; as well as with quinolones (eg. Levaquin) and some other antobiotics.
