Diastat report #SELF-2344
Male patient reported the following Diastat side effect(s):Mouth turned blue, stopped moving and breathing
My 2 yr old had a high fever. Because he had a febrile seizure due to fever before, we decided to take him to the ER. He had a seizure while in the ER and the doctor gave him the prescribed Diastat, given by his neurologist from previous episode, a few minutes later his whole body stopped and a code team rushed in to revive him...he was observed and tested for a few days...no real explanation given...scariest moment of my life.
