Female patient reported the following Seasonale side effect(s):Farigue, shortness of breath, vomiting blood clots, severe middle back pain

I had cosmetic surgery on 12-29-08 and within a couple of days I was having a hard time breathing and was extremely tired. I started to throw up blood clots. I called the doctor and they thought it was from being intibated during surgery. I ended up going to the ER and they did not catch it. A couple of days later I went to my primary doctor who sent me to a Pulmonary Specialist and he ordered a cat scan that showed the embolis. I was immediately admitted to ICU and stayed in the hospital for 6 days.

Dosage: I am not sure of the strength
Frequency: 1 tablet daily for three months and one week off.
Age: 23

Other medications: none
Diagnosis: To prevent reoccurance of ovarian cysts
Pre-existing conditions: I am hispanic. I do not smoke and I am very athletic. I do have allergies to Latex, pennicillin, wheat, and sesame.

Life-threatening? Yes Pulmonary Emboli
Disabled? No
Birth Defects? No
Was intervention required to prevent damage? Yes Heperin drip and coumadin orally for the next 6 months
Other serious medical events? No
Died? No
