Klonopin report #SELF-2636
Female patient reported the following Klonopin side effect(s):\"tightness\" of skin on fingers and hands, stiffness of joints, edema, loss of grip stength, formation of nodules on fingers and nuckle.
When second nodule appeared sought numerous medical opinions including that of a rheumatologist (who was prescribing the klonopin, and eleven years earlier had diagnosed me with \"fibromyalgia.\" After minimizing my symptoms (telling me I would be doing the right thing to take an antidepressant) he asked me if I wanted more presriptions. When I got off the exam table, and stumbled sideways because I was so dizzy, he asked me if I had had an MRI of my brain. When I said \"no\"--he said \"oh\" and concluded the \"exam.\" I later discovered from another doctor that he had lied in my medical record stating that he had definitely recommended I see a psychiatrist. I went to a rheumatologist at UCONN, and she said it was not psychosomatic, and biopsied the nodule which turned out to be a cyst. Since then I have formed others. I was never told by rheumatologist no. 1 that klonopin was a narcotic.
