Male patient reported the following Tamsulosin (flomax) side effect(s):dizziness, severe headache, loss of balance, pallor, anemia
76y WM had been on tamsulosin for 2 months and complained of minor headaches and small \"bursts\" of light-headedness. On 03/27/09 patient arrived in ER with loss of balance, marked dizziness, and severe headaches. All bloodwork was normal; no infection detected. CT scan revealed no evidence of head injury or evidence of hematomas.

Dosage: 0.4 mg/kg, 1x/day
Frequency: daily, after evening meal

Other medications: Avodart; Vitamins, 82mg daily aspirin
Diagnosis: BPH; bladder not emptying
Pre-existing conditions: Patient was hospitalized 3 months earlier for chronic but \"mild\" subdural hematoma. Patient had fully recovered at time of this reported incident. At the time of this incident, no cerebral problems were noted. No other medical condtions; patient is physical active and fit, and in excellent health.
